Almost time to go home
We are nearing the end of our trip. We visited Machu Picchu yesterday and are in fact in the village which is nestled in the mountains. The trip to the ruins was a bit hair raising! A narrow road with hairpin turns and very few guard rails. I have seen a lot of mountains but the ones here are awesome in the truest sense. I was a bit ho hum about coming here because I enjoyed the Galapoagos and the water so much. But it was worth it.
Today we have our first and probably only morning to sleep in so thought I would check in.
I am not looking forward to being back in the snow on Tuesday.

It is always nice to return home. My mom had a fear of heights and I remember when I was a little girl how she sat on the floor so she couldn\'t see out with those hairpin turns. (No, she wasn\'t the one driving. lol) I am glad you enjoyed the trip.

I would love to visit Machu Picchu. You have to be in awe how the ancient people built it. Those type of things fascinate me.
