Almost there...emotionally
I hope this little guy doesn’t offend anyone...I found it hilarious. Quotes for today.."Laughter is a tranquillizer with no side effects." Arnold Glasgow ----"A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in a doctor’s book" Irish Proverb Okay, now I’ll just update you on my recent activities. First of all, I am feeling almost like my old self. Just a few rough edges to file off! Even with the stress off the holidays and shopping in crowds I have been able to remain sane. Then of course, there was the news on Fri. That we had to have a new furnace because it had a whole and can leak carbon monoxide into the house. I did get a monitor and we have it in our bedroom. Then this morning at 5:00, the furnace decides that it does not want to work. Not good, it is -21*F here this a.m.. Br.....! Anyway, the guy came right away, he is here now. The problem was the control box, a couple of hundred dollars for the part. Oh. Joy, more moola!! It would not effect the new furnace as they are two separate units. Anyway we have heat. We had hest from the propane fireplace which heats the rec room and kitchen and I have a small electric heater for upstairs.Well, it’s a good thing it happened this morning as we are going to get hit with a major snow storm later today and into tomorrow. The latest predictions are a foot of heavy snow today and 6 more inches tomorrow. The winds will be about 65miles per hour gusting to about 87 miles an hour. Time to batten down the hatches.Yesterday I got almost all my final running around done. I got my mum’s hair gift certificate for her birthday which is Dec.26, I got bird seed, I picked up the last of the stocking stuffers, just didn’t get to the liquor store. I’ll do that today, need wine for gifts.Later, about 1:30, I went to my friends’s to have coffee and a chat and to groom her dog, Zelda. She needed to be clipped and I have a professional set. Well, Zelda is a very.... large golden setter with lots and lots of hair. She is not too fond of the grooming process, we used treats to bribe her and every half hour had to give us all a break. It took about 2 ½ hours but we did it. She really could have used another hour to smooth things out but we had all had enough. We are going to try doing her once a month.Well , we have two loaves of maple bread made and the third one started, one more to go. Today I have to make two desserts. I pledged them as a fund raiser and the purchaser is going to pick them up tomorrow. They are really easy so it’s no big deal.Today I really need to get the birds fed they have been without any for a few days. I don’t like to do this to them. I will get it out early so they can eat before the storm.Anyway, this is the end of my saga for today.
