almost no longer need to go to Starbucks and now saving $$

a while back I bought myself a french press coffee

maker and began making my own coffee at home

rather than buying it a starbucks every day after work.

It really saved me a bunch of money - though the grocery store

bought ground coffee is still pretty $$.

I would go back to Starbucks to have a chai tea latte (hot)

or a matcha tea latte (also hot.)

Well, I found a great chai tea at Trader Joe's! It is so good

and better imho than Starbucks'. Now I make a chai tea latte

here at home, with oatmilk or almond milk and two packets of

turbanado sugar. Really good. And boy is it great to have this treat

every day if I feel like it! This is also saving me $$.

When I go back to the TJ's, I'll see if they carry matcha!

Okay... a little surprised by this out of the ordinary home economical

entry?? Why not!? ;-)

the first time my hubby took his father to a starbuck's, his father asked if he was buying coffee or company stocks. there's no doubt that coffee shop coffee is high dollar, but i figure i'm buying ambience more than libation. coffee shops are on my favorites list for breaking isolation. i feed my coffee addiction with the cheapest brew i can find. i did learn how to drink coffee in the army, after all. how dare you wash that pot?!?!?!? your washing out the seasoning!!!!!!!!

these days i'm seeing matcha in the family grocery stores. it ain't exotic no more. still, it remains exotic enough that a fashionable place like TJ's surely oughta have an exotic variety of it.

Starbucks has a new rival - Markbucks! Love making Iced Matcha Lattes. Prefer cold matcha over hot. I make a little hot matcha in an old Instant Coffee jar w lid. I then add the milk and ice and shake it up in the jar. Amazon has some good stainless steel straws.
