Almost Friday!!

I really enjoy hearing about the retreat - thank you for sharing and making this SOTH feel I was part of it. The pictures are great too!! Panama Beach, Florida looks just beautiful...It is definitely a destination I want to put on my bucket list.!
It's Friday tomorrow - yay!! This week has been minimum days for teacher conferences so that has been nice having students until 12:50 every day. It is giving me a chance to get caught up on the endless paperwork that we now have to fill out. We are hosting a FREE flu clinic here @ our school for students whose parents consent. It is a grant that Kaiser received but as you know, anything that has to do with the state, there is mounds of paperwork to be completed for each student, etc.......that's on top of daily "stuff"......thankful I have my job - just wanted to gripe for a moment!!
Hunter is doing okay - talked with him last night. Grades are good, he seems to be in good spirits...I hope to see him this week-end. Things are settling in and I am learning to accept that which I cannot change (that takes a lifetime, doesn't it?)
I had an appointment with my therapist and right directly in front of me was a sign, listing the next holiday their office is CLOSED - 11/26/15 THANKSGIVING....But wait, I thought that is Jennifer Angelversary....the tears came, my heart stopped for a moment and I was right back in that hospital room, wondering how to say good-bye to my Jennifer? Sometimes I'm glad I have my memories but other times I don't want to remember certain things......
Just catching you all up on what's going on. Sending big hugs & much love.
Vicki

Oh my...those triggers are in places that we are not expecting! And when they hit, they take your breath away. It still happens to me and it has been more than 8 years. You are right there is a double edge sword with memories...love and gentle hugs...Karen

I hope you get to see Hunter, my grandies have healing powers. They love, they hug lots, the best is snuggle time one on each side of me. Good luck with the kids and paper work.

Yes those \"other\" memories can catch us off guard. I so hope that you have many happy memories this weekend of your sweet Jennifer. They can sure do our broken heart some good.

Sounds like fun spending time with Hunter, hope you get to see him this weekend. Lots of hugs!

Ouch...it hurts to see those dates in black and white, like they are just another day to everyone else...but to us they are devastating :(

Holidays are hard enough as it is, then to have a birthdate or angelversary on top of it can cause tremendous sorrow and apprehension. This hit at such an inopportune time and I hate it when it hits in a public place. I remember being hit with double burdens at work as well. It was always kind of harsh with all the deadlines! Sending love and tight hugs, Leda

Love and gentle (((hugs))) dearest friend. I\'m right there with you on those \"dates\" and they are forever etched upon our souls.

TGIF and hoping you have your Hunter time. BEing closer has to be such a gift for you both as I remember it was 300 miles or so that separated you before.

Much love and thank you for your friendship dear sister,

Angel days and birthdays are so painful. It does get better but many of us spend them doing something to honor our children, and all the memories come flooding back along with the tears.
I hope you are able to make it to the retreat next year! Every year is different but they are all healing. It is wonderful spending time with the SOTH!
I hear you about paperwork. When I retired, the paperwork didn\'t allow me to do the things I thought were important.
I am glad to hear that Hunter is doing okay. but I so understand when you say you are accepting the things we can\'t change. I have not quite gotten there yet!
Hang in there my friend.
Love and tight hugs, M

I\'m so glad that Hunter is doing okay and hopefully you can spend some time with him this weekend!

I know how much it hurts with the painful memories. Every time my mind goes to that dark place, it takes a lot of effort to reel my mind back to a better place. I want to remember just the happy times. Sigh...

Hey, I hope to catch you at our next retreat! Take care and enjoy the time with your grandson!

With love and hugs,
Diane
