all is ok

HI to all of my DS friends. I read the journals and know that we are blessed.  Why are we ok and others not,  I truly have a burden for all of you.  Steve is actually playing golf this morning.  He and my son-in law are on the course now and the house is quiet. I am thinking of each of you and the way life is for you. We don't understand life and will not until we reach heaven.  A friend once told me the why won't matter when we get to heaven and see our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Why do some survive and others don't?  I am enterally grateful to have all of you as my friends.  Unless God continues to give Steve a miracle I will be in the same situation as some of you are now.  I will take one day at a time and thank God for it.  We are told to not make plans for ourselves, that God know the day and the hour.
I surely hope that you guys don't think I come on too strong, this is what keeps me going, my faith.  If you guys could see me I am known as a worrier, ( by the way I know that is a sin in itself)  but as a funny person as well.  I have always gone to church along with my family but when the cancer came along my faith increased many times over.   I try to see the good in everyone, we are all different, but hey we are all children of God.
Steve is totally different from me . Not in our faith but in the way we accept things. He is the strong one is this family. Layed back,  strong and determined.  Never gives in to small stuff, figures out the why of things, a fighter, and willing to go after things that I would be nervous about.  A straight talker, does not mind giving you his opinion on things (boy is that the truth, hehe).  He is funny, we laugh a lot,  and did I mention temper!!!!  We are so different and  yet so alike.   I trust people and he has to form a opinon of you first!!  he says I am so naive.
I didn't mean to "bend your ear " this morning. Only sweet Ingrid understands my slang from the south.  We tend to murder the english language.    I am sending my best to each of you today.  Love, Wanda

Hi Wanda
You know that your attitude and beliefs are the glue that holds you and your family together! Everyone has to find their own way and some may believe, and others not. That is what makes this world go around. But I think that it is wonderful that your faith has been so strong and a blessing for you and those around you. It is easy to question why, why do bad things happen to good people. It is easy to LOSE faith when suffering and sorrow abound. And when faced with adversity within our own families, it is common to take the opposite attitude and feel abandoned by your particular faith. Believe me, I did. I had both my son and husband seriously ill for quite some time and it was only by giving up and then returning, that I was able to cope.
So, as I come down from the pulpit (haha) just want to cheer you on and let us all accept and enjoy these good days if and when we have them, because who know what tomorrow may bring!

I find it very encouraging that you can have the attitude and faith that you do and wish you the very most positive outcome. Meanwhile, it\'s heartening to see you deliberately enjoying yourself with Steve. One thing you\'ve probably learned here is how precious our time with our spouses is and how you must value every moment. So it\'s great that you are.

Hugs, Gail

Dear Wanda
what an interesting entry, and thanks so much for sharing it. We bend ears over on this side of the pond too!! I do hope that you are not feeling in some way a little guilty for the fact that you are doing ok... .As Linda says above, it\'s just wonderful to hear when anyone here on DS has something positive to share. How we need reminding, sometimes, that this journey is not all pain and sadness.
Thank you for talking so openly about your faith. I don\'t find these matters easy, often, and I really appreciate your giving the deeper meaning behind your feelings.
So so glad that Steve\'s doing well. Keep letting us know about the good stuff!
hope you\'re having a lovely weekend
much love, Meriel x x x

Dear Friends, the responses I got from \"yall\" were so heartwarming. I am so grateful for this site, and I am grateful for my friends. As I have said before you have to be in this battle to really understand what how one feels. Have a great weekend, as I have decided to stay home this morning. We have run back and forth all week and Steve is really tired. We have raised over $6,000.00 dollars for our little friend Carey who is battling colon cancer. The past two Saturdays have been filled with fundraisers. She is not doing well, her mother reports that she is down to 49 pounds, she is 11 years old. Please pray for mercy for this family. I love you all, Wanda

Hi Wanda, so good to hear the positive about Steve. Glad to hear he\'s having some great days. Will keep your little friend Carey in my prayers. Sounds like that\'s quite a community that coming together to fight for her. What a blessing! Your mentions of your faith remind me of 1 Peter 3: 4. Have a good weekend! - Karen

Dear Wanda,
Your faith is so much a part of your life and I\'m sure it has helped you to stay positive throughout Steve\'s illness and helps you to be the amazing, strong lady that you are. By the way, I understand your slang from the south - sounds very Australian to me.
