Afternoon tea

I made a cup of tea today and it triggered all sorts of memories of the final days of my husband.  I was making a cup of tea when the telephone rung.  It was my husband saying that he was sick to his stomach and needed for me to come and pick him up from work.  I remember sitting the cup of tea down on the table and telling him to go to the emergency room.  It was our last conversation over the telephone.

These memories will be with us forever unfortunatly. I passed an ambulance the other day I had to to pull over - the memories came flooding back. I am sorry you are down. I have been down for 2 1/2 weeks now. I\'m trying to hold on. You do the same, my friend.

Been 80 days today, I lost my mom and haven\'t been able to have my afternoon tea yet. I do night shifts and would always sit at the balcony on breezy afternoons or watch her stupid TV shows, have tea and snacks and gossip away. I get up and try searching for the life I lost in a few seconds, everyday. Although, I am realizing the loss and acknowledging it a little more everyday. Still waiting for the day I\'ll be able to smile and have my favorite afternoon tea.

I\'m sorry for all of us who couldn\'t say goodbye to our loved ones. We didn\'t deserve this and it just sucks. Hang in there sweetheart...xoxoxoxo

Its funny what a simple things can trigger. I had to have a doppler sonogram of my legs to check for blocker arteries, three years before my husbands death he had one, and I believe that it was the beginning of the end. I was so unwilling to get the test done, but finally did. Its strange how the mind works. I hope that happier memories replace these sad one for you. Hang in there my friend, it will get better. One day a cup of tea, will just be a nice break in your day. Big hugs wishing you the best Jane

I\'m so sorry for this. Every innocent little thing that we see or do during a day can be a huge trigger quite unexpectedly. All the best to you and I agree that it will be a wonderful thing when a cup of tea can be a relaxing thing for you to savor quietly.

Hugs, Gail

We are going to experience all kinds of things that will trigger a memory good or bad that will make us cry. It is the simplest things or the silliest things that will be a trigger. You will know when you have come along way in your inward healing when a cup of tea will just be a up of tea and no longer a trigger for you.

Hopefully one day not too far away we will be able to have these memories without the intense pain that goes with them and the memories of joyful times will become more and more frequent. It\'s the little everyday things that catch you out all the time isn\'t it. Thinking of you and sending hugs, Lottie

My husband also called me at work to let me know he had to go to the hospital. He was admitted and passed away, one week later. He was on dialysis when the Dr order him to go to the hospital, they immediatly took him off, so he could go. That was the last time I spoke to him on the phone. For the longest time I could not go near nor pass the dialysis ctr. It brought to many sad memories. I have since moved on and can pass without a problem, but it took me many years to get to this point in my life. Hopefully it doesn\'t take that long for you. Take care and hang in there, we get there, we just don\'t know when....hugs.....Esther
