after the last post

after the last post, I remembered something my resident psychiatrist

said to me.. She said something like 'rather than feel or observe yourself

as needing to be fixed, maybe look at it as there are simply areas in life

that are a challenge for you' then she said 'we all have them' and 'hopefully

by realizing that it would make us more empathic' - it's a great inspiration.

I'm knowing mine and feeling ready to see others with theirs as well :)

yeah, viewing myself as broken and trashy sure makes it hard to navigate the world. how do you trust sub-zero self-esteem?

my reframing was to view myself as a work of art. on my most broken days, i am a mosaic. shattered to pieces more than once, but pieced back together with artful mastery. on my best days, i am a work of natural art. the flaws provide character. and then there is trash art where the brokenness is sculpted into the interesting.

i'm not broken. i'm a masterpiece in progress. venus de milo approves. she's applauding with her feet.
