Actually A Fairly Good Day
Hi Fred;
Believe it or not, today I managed to stay home all day long! First time since I lost Nick. The cats were really happy about this. They all took turns being petting. I found it takes a lot of time to pet 5 cats until they aare satisfied. In between the "Purr & Petting" sesions I got most of the laundry finished and the kitchen cleaned up a bit. Doesn't sound like much but for me it was pretty good.
I've had the radio on all day. It has helped. Also I have had a couple short visits. After I finish this journal entry I plan to watch The Mentalist and then end the evening by reading.
I got the word out that I had raspberries to give away and I had a few takers. Boy I am glad about that. I have a ton of them. I went & picked berries at Marcie's for 5 solid hours yesterday. There are still more on the bushes. I will need to go help her again. At age 86 she still tries to do things that a 46 year old could do. She tried to get too far inside her berry patch (forest, actually) and she hurt the leg she had polio in as a child. Once the thunder & lightening storms go away I'll make another run down to Shelley and do another picking. Hopefully it won't be another 5 hour marathon!
Today Ashley came over. She and her Mom had found a pair of sandals they thought I would like. They were right. Cutest sandals I've ever seen. They are dark brown with small straps around the foot and heal. Right in the middlke on top they have a gold cheetah. They are great fun.
I went on line and read the supportive messages from a lot of the women on DS. They all gave me encouragement. I really appreciate the help the give me.
I feel good about being able to stay home all day by myself. There were a few tears but not anything huge. Also no really dark thoughts or haunts today. I also did not over eat today! All in all this was one of the better days. I am grateful for it.
Good night, Fred.
