Achieving Goals With God.
o v e r d i d i t with some morning chores.
don't know how ya'll manage things, i visualize myself doing it first. several times. see it - eventually believe it & then do it.
break things down into doable small sets of tasks and then come here to sit. slowly wag my tail and wait for a treat. .....yup like a hard working pup i suppose.......
worked on one small corner of the garage. now as i go forward i can see tangible evidence of a bigger plan about Achieving Goals With God.
Now the items in the corner are stored neatly in tubs. Swept the walls, baseboards and corners down......and watched the spiders RUN for COVER! Sitting here on ice is a great reward, it will help me get back to bed after while. I have a fluffy dust cleaner thingy that has a long arm that extends, so the dust and bugs can run, but they cannot hide! I can do this leaning against the car!!!!!
I don't know if I told you but my last haircut was not so great. Not like this is world news or anything, but when a girls hair is not right it's a buggy deal. Have baby fine hair, but a lot of it, so it has a tendency towards fluffiness. (code for frizzy wild einstein hair!!) The right cut makes all the difference. ---didn't want to return to the scene of the hair cutting crime....instead I remembered a sign I saw for a hair place near home. ......had the word Paris in the name.......found it and made the call.
Krista said she could see me. Yay!! On impulse I bagged up cookies I recently baked & took them as a get acquainted gift. Sharing treats is a nice beginning........and good for me too! I get to bake and not accumulate the evidence on my hips! .......countermeasures are important! And everyone at the salon can enjoy a treat!!! win win........?!
She was as nice as can be, she diagnosed the problem easily, ----said the cut I had looked liked a pyramid cut.......too much hair at the bottom........who wants to have a big old triangle on their head? She recommended layers, but keeping the same length. WOWEE, WOW, WOW! What a transformation!
We had a nice chat along the way - then at checkout she gave me a lovely first time customer discount.......think in part as commiseration for receiving a less than stellar cut elsewhere. A stylist with COMPASSION! how nice is that!!! She thanked me for the cookies again & then gave me a little gift too. A small gift box with product coupons, product samples, her business cards, referral cards and mints......all wrapped up with pretty burgundy & black raffia tied in a big bow. So nice to get a little unexpected present!
This little life is something else. It's not grand or all lit up in lights like Broadway, but it's nice to have MOMENTS that lift a body up. Hair may not sound like much but when you struggle with so much having a pretty do is a special hoorah you can wear daily!
.......i was thinking......maybe I am too effusive with love, comments about how special ya'll are.......so I thought about it some more. My own life is pretty solitary. When I do stuff around here nobody physically pats me or says good job or hugs me........admires my handiwork. Nobody says "yay, you did the dishes or great job on the laundry kid!".........nobody says "great going on the way you manage the bills or for a sweet job mending something or taking care of the plants." .......keeping my psyche balanced rests a lot on these shoulders. i believe you understand by virtue of your own life experience........so i extend stars and high fives to little ol me regularly......because it's hard work and it takes a lot of discipline to handle it all. and EVEN BIGGER STARS & LOVE PATS along with words of encouragement cause I am so proud of you, astonished and proud of all you do in care of you, your life, people and things in your life......ASTONISHED at the STELLAR JOB YOU DO!
often it feels like it's too big of a job..........paperwork, dealing with customer service people, doing physical chores are very challenging and yet i know if i don't move/stretch.......i will lose strength so when i can i try to break tasks up into "small achievable corners" and not worry about what I can't do.........take time to celebrate signs of progress.
and because i know what it takes, the challenges of it all.......it makes me want to pamper and appreciate you! we all need to hear words of value, we all need to hear that we make a difference, that we have a lot to offer to others.......by virtue of listening and sharing and encouraging.........so if I seem a little over the top with compliments, try to just sit there and take it!!! cause i think many of us rarely hear about what a wonderful job we're doing or what a terrific person we are........exactly the way we are!
when a body used to be able to do soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much in a day it takes time to learn to appreciate what this body can do now. And the TRUTH? it's amazing at how much one can do .......and by resting one can really let it sink in that these small goals will get us down the field .......sort of like first downs on a football field I suppose. I'm so not a football person of knowledge but I hope that example makes some sense.
Listening to the cicadas sing about summer........the birds chime in with neighborhood gossip.......and the heat continues to rise. .......the pinwheels slowly spin as they catch the tiniest breeze.....we're heading towards 90.......with high humidity. time to head to the mountains don't ya think?
sigh, tried to add pictures but they aren't showing up, rats. ......later ya'll!

You are an inspiration to me, and I hope you receive that as a compliment on what a good job you are doing! I know how much you struggle with pain, and isolation, and tummy troubles, and the list can probably go on. But, you keep picking yourself up and trying again. And, you do a good job at managing your day to day life, no matter how difficult it is at times. If I could, I would send you a gold star for all the awesome things you do!
I\'ve been working too hard today, too. Been going through all of my clothes, trying to separate and box up the \"too bigs, now.\" I\'m pooped. Taking a break before I have to start supper.
My hair is baby fine, but it it stick straight and it grows very slowly. I\'ve tried to let it grow out of my short-short style once in the last 33 years. It got down to a chin-length bob, and I COULDN\'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I stopped at a salon on my way home and got it whacked. When I got home, my husband was at the kitchen sink getting a drink of water. He simply looked at me and said, \"That\'s better!\" Sooooo, short she stays.
Complements ........... My CFS isn\'t as severe as a lot of people\'s, but it\'s bad enough to keep me from being able to do a lot of things. Most people, my husband included, expect too much out of me and they\'re disappointed when I can\'t rise to the occasion. My dad and my husband thought I\'d be back to \"normal\" after I lost the weight, but that\'s just another disappointment, so far. My mom and my daughter want to baby me ---- they are big-hearted people who mean well, but ... you know.
We need your complements, Sparrow. We need you! I love the way you write, too! Wish I could write like that. I\'m more cut and dry ---- never did well on essays!
