ACCIDENT ANNIVERSARY
Hard to believe that four years ago at this very minute I was all alone ,trapped in my vehicle in freezeing cold water wondering if I was gonna live...Its 4:46 am & I havent been to bed yet....My terrible memery feels like it was this year...I had been christmas shopping late about midnight and on my way home,I rounded a curve and hit a patch of ice.I hit a tree head on and went over a hundred foot embankment, landing upside down in a creek bed. My drivers seat had broke and flipped backwards on impact and had trapped me by the seat belt. The seat belt was cutting into my stomache and across my upper legs and I was half in the creek water. At first my first reaction was to grab my kids Christmas presents that were floating past me until I realized I was just getting more soaked.I had no sence of direction,in the vehicle or even where I really was..I remember laying in the glass and water, and looking into the moon lit night ,watching the shadows and snow fall from the trees. The creek was very loud and I kept hopeing no vicious wild animals would be comeing along. After awhile I had lost feeling due to my circulation being cut off and the hypothermia setting in...I would yell help until I was just to exhausted to yell...I would think of my kids and how much I loved them and was so very proud of them.I thought of all my lifes mistakes and what I should have done different...It was a very long eight hours before a snow plow driver seen my tracks and rescued me...I was air lifted to a trama hospital where I was shakeing so bad I couldnt quit,I spent a week in ICU and went home in a wheel chair just before Christmas..No broken bones but I had severe swelling from the seat belt cutting off my circulation.I didnt walk for three months. My life changed dramatically after that event in my life and I feel so alone because no one seems to understand. I will never be the same person that I was.I not only suffer from physical pain everyday but a mental pain as well. On the other hand I try to appreciate things a little more .I need to except the changes in my life and move on but its been very hard...Well, this has been very exhausting takeing myself through it all again so I am ending this journal entry ....

You suffered a severe and life changing trauma. I know how hard it is to try and get some kind of life back. I am 3 years post accident and I fight with myself about my new life every day. I often feel useless, like I am taking up someone else\'s valuable oxygen. I have problems watching my family struggle finacially knowing it is my fault because I don\'t work. I can\'t say I understand everything you are feeling because your accident was unique to you and the horrible time you spent trapped in your car. I can not imagine how scared you must have been. Please know if you ever need to talk or vent I am always willing to listen. I know for me it seems like my entire life now revolves around my accident, Dr.\'s appt. and trying to get social security, and dealing with the court system. It is so hard to try and move past it and start a new life when these things seem to always pull me back into having to deal with it over and over again. Just know I care. (((HUGGS)))
I can only imagine the awful memories and feelings that this accident brings. You deserve some slack for how it affects you to this day. I\'m so happy you survidvd the accident.
Thanks for sharing your story of how the accident happened. I can only imagine how life changing it can be for you and how it affects you. I have never been in a life threatening accident and hope never to experience one. An angel must\'ve been with you helping you to hang in there. You survived and the chance to be with your kids again, that is a miracle. Wouldn\'t you say. Lots of hugs to you.
This seems so hard. I don\'t know how you did that being cold, being in trouble. I am very glad that you made it out alive. I had no idea that you went through this. I am glad you shared this. It helps me to know you more. I am very sorry that you had to go through this. It is very hard. Many blessings and hugs to you. I am glad I am your friend.
WOW Tammy I had never knew the details....How could anyone go through that and be the same...what a traumatic thing to experience! It\'s a miracle you lived, and I do believe there is a real reason that God said it wasn\'t your time! You have much left to do my friend :) I for one am glad to have had the chance to know you!
