about housekeeping
I keep an orderly, organized home. I keep things in their designated places so that I'll
always know where they are - and never lose anything. I keep the dishes washed,
the garbage and recycling put out, the clothes washed and folded, the bed made, and the kitty
litter cleaned. I keep stocked up on household supplies and food in the fridge.
However...I have really been remiss about scrubbing the floors, bathtub and shower and
surfaces. I did them last time because someone was coming over. I really could
do with a good cleaning and just writing about it is helping me realize that it's not only
a should but I deserve to have a clean place! I really admire how Jan keeps up with things.
I run the vaccuum every once in a while - but I need to dust and just cover everything real
well again.
Tomorrow will be the day! Therapy in a little bit and then haircut at 1pm..

Big hug sweetie.... We all have chores that we don't really like to do I think... I have messy drawers in my bedroom.... I think I'm a little OCD about cleaning..... Not off the wall but I have to follow my routine or it bothers me.... I think havng my home clean and orderly gives me a sense of control even if it's a false sense
You keep your home very nice.... Maybe have a set day to clean the BR ... That's what I do and sometimes I don't do things on my scheduled day but always within a day or two of it..... xo.... Peace to you.... I hope that therapy goes well....xo
How easy is it for you to reach your floors?
I tend to be more finicky about my floors than tabletops, etc., because the floor is where I am most comfortable. Seems to me that most people who tease me like a freak for that have a hard time getting up and down off the floor. The floor is simply not in their comfort zone. Out of sight, out of mind. Now if all that filth would **just stay** out of sight and out of mind and out of bed and. . .
Sigh. . . Always something, eh?

For the floors I usually use a Swiffer Mark.... They're inexpensive... You just have to buy the pads and floor wash solution and it does a good job... I occasionally get down and give it a good wipe ...I agree with Arf when your floors look clean your place looks clean

I have a Swiffer WetJet and it makes keeping the floors clean pretty easy if you do it regularly. Especially for those of us who live alone and don't have multiple peeps tracking through the house.
For dusting I also use the Swiffer Dusters, I have the extended handle one, so it can get the ceiling fan and tops of pictures and doors, etc.
I can't "not" keep my house clean and orderly, its an OCD thing...but I also could never live in a dirty house.
One other thing that makes it easy, is I use a "Stick Vac" for the kitchen floor and entry way and bathrooms, because it's easy and light to run it over them once a day. Then I use the big vacuum once a week. Living on a ranch, dust just gets in, so even though most of the rooms in my house don't get used daily, I still feel like I have wrangle the dust every week.
