Abilify
This morning I went in to see my pdoc and I told him about my recent episode as well as the side effects I am having and the side effects that have passed. I got weighed and I had gained another 4 pounds since the last time. Now I'm at 188, the heaviest I have ever been at in my life. I complained about this to my pdoc, and directly asked to get off of the Risperdal. He took me off that and put me on Abilify instead, 10mg.
This should be interesting. I take my first dose tomorrow morning, just before I leave for New York. I stopped taking the Risperdal starting tonight.
The funny thing is that I was NOT taken off the Cogentin, I asked about it and I was deliberately kept on it even though I was put on it to counteract the Risperdal side effects.

Years ago I took Prozac and after that I\'m simply afraid of all the chemicals they pump us full of. I know so many lives are saved and improved when people are given the correct medication and dosage but so many have such a difficult time with them also. I told my doctor I would pass on the meds for now. I take Adderal for the fatigue and Vicodin for severe pain only every now and then along with my OTC herbs and such. I seem to have a good balance right now and am a bit afraid to tweak it trying to make it better only to have something else go wrong that I have to cope with.
I hope the trip goes well for you and the visit is one everyone will enjoy. I can understand why the concern over the med change right now at this time. I hope you have only good results and life improves.
