A week of hope
My dear friends I can't say enough how sincerely grateful I am that you take the time to read my journals and to offer your encouragement and support. I want you to know it has helped so much when no-one else could get through ..even those close to me who I know care about me and are concerned. Thank you and I pray that you too will feel the comfort of support from your friends here at DS and other loved ones in your life.
I've declared this my week of hope. Its off to a rough start, I nearly cursed when my brother-in-law started telling me that if I love God then my life will be blessed with love and prosperity. Had another meltdown in church yesterday also, bawling uncontrollably, so I realize that my relationship with God is the most important thing that i need to fix right now.
So I say to the Lord, I'm not wide open yet, I don't know what to pray for, I have no form in which to express my hope but I choose to hope. So I can't say what I'm hoping for, I can only say "I hope".
It is my commitment to just keeping saying those 2 words, over and over this week when the negative thoughts assault me. To hold on to those two words. To hold on to the faith that has been the center of my life for most of my life.
I hope.
Bless you my friends, I hope life treats you kindly this week.

I am so encouraged to hear this, Max. I know you are at a crossroads in your faith. Usually, when we face these crossroads, we come out with a deeper trust in God. I think crying in church is the absolute best thing you can do right now. I remember when a friend of mine had a stillborn baby. She draped herself over the altar and wept bitterly, week after week. Some people started to get frustrated and wanted to confront her about it. I got super pissed off and said, \"Listen, if she wants to drape herself on that altar every week, you keep your mouth shut! She is reaching out to God the only way she knows how and I will not let you slam the doors of the Kingdom in her face!\" Anyway, it sounds like you are on the right track in grieving before God. Tell your brother-in-law that Job\'s friends were severely chastened by God for telling Job that very \"doctrine\" that he told you (do good=blessing, do evil=cursing). In one of the Gospels, it is recorded that a tower fell on some people and it was reported to Jesus. His response was, \"Do you think those people are any worse than anyone else?\" In other words, they are not suffering as a punishment from God. OK, off of my soapbox for today. I love you, girl! Heather.
Go Heather!! Awesome response.
Max. I am a child of the King. I love the Lord. I lost my husband a year ago, and surely, surely, felt my life was going to end. I had absolutely no idea how to deal with this grief. So in response to your statement that you hope your friends here find the support you are getting from DS, the answer to that is OH YEA!! These people carried me through his entire final year of life. I draped myself over my friends and my church friends, and my pastor like nobody\'s business. I hoped!! I hoped and hoped, and now....a year later....I can see the light shining through. Very slowly, but God is showing me that HE is my comfort!! HE is my hope. I have to trust. I have to be patient. He never said my life would be without pain. And it is not. I accept this, and am learning to treasure each new day, as the next day, of my next chapter in God\'s book of my life. A life without my husband.
Sure enough...He knows how many hairs are on our heads, so He knows your need for hope. He hears your prayers. He hears our prayers for you.
HOPE. It is a good word. I\'m sure He planted it in your heart. Let\'s let it grow now!! Read the Bible.....every day. ALL the answers are in there.
Hang in, sister! xo
