A visit to the bar :)

Last night I went to a neighborhood sports bar with my hubby who was meeting a friend from work for a couple games of pool. Neither of us are big drinkers, but do have an occasional beer.
I didn't drink of course at just under a month out, which was nice for my hubby who knew he could have a couple without having to drive home. And we were only there for maybe 2 hrs...
But it felt good to be out. And my hubby ordered some food. He knew I still had protein to get in for the day and he asked me what he could order that I could eat some of (how sweet!). I was a bit nervous as this was the first time I'd be eating anything not made by me at home.
But they had stake fingers... Not the batter dipped kind, just very lightly floured fingers. It also came with garlic toast and tater tots. I ate 4 of the fingers and 6 tater tots. (In the past, I would have INHALED the food and wanted more!) I tracked it all and was still within my daily allowance for everything :)
It was nice to have such a small amount of food fill me up! And to just eat normal foods too. I was very satisfied and yeah, the tots were outside what I would normally eat, but for me, I think it is important to feel normal.
Trip to bar... Successful! :)

That\'s fantastic!!!! I was wondering, bc steak is sometimes so \"tough\" to chew compared to chicken, etc- did you have difficulty digesting it? Glad you had a fun and successful night out!!

It is the little things that you can find joy in. Just to think after surgery you get to experience these things again as firsts. And good for your husband for supporting you while there too!
