A time to celebrate

Jeff,
Today Connor completed his last day of High School. After 13 years, from kindergarden to his senior year, he has struggled. Never fitting in, bullied by the guys in his class yet staying loyal. He has grown into a very caring, compassionate young man. He was lost before you came into our lives just 4 1/2 years ago. You taught him how to stand up for himself, to put people in their place, to be a true friend, to respect women ( especially his Mom , me!) And even though you and he had so many issues and arguments, he still considers you more of a Dad in those short years than his biological father has been. You instilled so much in both of the boys.
Today Connor took his last finals and celebrated as he walked into the house at 3:35. And its been quite a few months months since I've seen him happy. Since you passed away and it became just the boys and I again.
I know you are celebrating with him and I know that he feels you with him. Thank you. For all you did for him when you were there and for all the times you will look over him as he grows to be the man he will become. He owes you so much. And so do I!
  Love you baby.
