A platform for life

I talked to my cousin’s partner last night who is a therapist. I liked what we talked about especially about having a platform for dealing with life. It really was an amazing idea and mental connection to think about our ways of dealing with human life. This is meant in the way that we choose and use our platforms to promote health along the way through all the regular craziness of life. The monastery has really been that for me. It has been an amazing platform. I see we each have a platform in different forms.
I appreciated this so much and i feel blessed to learn about this..

I’ve really felt such gratitude for the monastery but haven’t known how to think about it without a sense of cloudiness about all that it meant until now. Have a great day you guys!!!

I’m just reminded how my current therapist talked about therapy as being a journey, and there’s not necessarily a finality. And so in that sense having a therapist and doing therapy is a kind of platform with which to deal with the craziness of life so that it’s not so disruptive and is manageable. There’s a lot of different platforms out there:)

Maybe the platforms are like tiers as we age, going along our 'journey'....hmmm, maybe they're more like stepping stones as we move forward in life.

Stuff to think about! Thanks Mark!

amen on the huge variety of platforms from which we can deal with the craziness of life and manage our reactions to that craziness. with all that variety, we still need more ways and means to build more platforms. the platforms which served me in my escape from the throwaway kid camps didn't work so well in the military service which provided my escape route. the military platform was not very useful in college. fast forward through half a century and recovery through the phases and stages of 50 years, i feeling the need for yet another for parenting teenagers in my 80's. i kinda like gtt's imagery of tiers. if each tear is a bit more elevated than the last? ? ? am i building a tierway to heaven?

life is not a destination. it is a journey. wherever you are, live to the fullest.

Crossing your own platform to touch another platform is to
Look beyond your life and responsibilities to care for and extend kindness or gesture and respect of one another’s life.
I realize I have to respect others’ others’ platforms in order to understand them and my work and others’ work. This set of ideas helps me know I make a good try of it.
