A nice day
After a day of my mind tormenting my heart at work with thoughts of my wife's recent distancing herself from me, I returned home from work to help my youngest son on homework. Then I got him ready for his first day of little league baseball practice and we were about to head out when my wife got home from work. We decided to go to practice together. We really had a very nice time sitting together at practice. We talked about our days at work and she was so excited and proud to tell me about a bit of success she had. I reaffirmed my faith in her abilities and showed my support. Her eyes were shining and so was her beautiful smile. My heart was complete goo. As practice progressed the wind picked up and she got a little chilly. She asked sweetly if I'd run home to grab a jacket for her and I agreed. She then gave me a sweet, tender kiss and my heart soared. When I returned we flirted and I made her laugh quite a few times. These are the times I treasure now. I wish they were enough for her. The rest of the evening was very nice and I believe she felt a connection to me. I just don't get why she can't stay like this. I feel almost like I'm married to two very different women.
On a different subject, my oldest stepson and I were talking about a belated birthday gift he wanted to get for my wife. It is a framed list of dates: the birthdays of the six family members and the "Our Wedding" date. Personally. I love it but as it emphasizes the marriage date I'm not sure how my wife will view it. As my 2 eldest son know the situation (the 2 youngest are oblivious), it meant a lot to me that he wanted to give this to my wife. I pointed out she may have mixed feelings about it but he decided to make the purchase anyway. I'm nervous how this will go over when he gives it to her.

Even though the date of your marriage is there, the gift is coming from your son. Plus there are other important dates as well. Coming from a mother...I think she will love it. The date you married is still important regardless of what your situation is with her. Don\'t worry too much.
