A new year
Hi everyone,
The new year has come and gone and I wonder what 2013 will bring to us all. To guess or even to know the future is not something I want to ponder. I know it is good to plan what you want to do or where you want to go but in reality it is what God plans for us. So we continue to live one day at a time and count EVERY day a blessing.
I am very blessed to have a husband that loves me and wants what is best for me. One night this week when we went to bed he told me over and over "I love you". I think nights are the worse times for him. It gives him time to think about things and realize just how precious time is. 14 years is a really long time to deal with this kind of cancer and I know he thinks how much longer he will be able to fight it? He has seen so many cancer victims come and lose their battle. He has told me so many times, why am I left and children die. I have no answer.
From the beginning we have fought this fight, me reading all I could to understand the disease and him saying I don't want to know. He has said so many times "God and I are handling this". I have seen him get up and go to church when he didn't feel like it. Lead the church in prayer, his voice trembling at times but still strong. I have seen such determination in him that I am afraid that I could never have. I am so proud of him.
I guess I am telling you who are just now coming to this site to never give up. Work with your doctors who can tweak your treatments to let you live a comfortable and good quality of life.
Happy New Year to each of you!

Very inspiring, Wanda. Thanks for sharing. Here\'s to a healthy and happy new year for you and Steve.
I love you, Ingrid
You are so right with what you say in your last paragraph Wanda, and you are a wonderful person to have on this forum, both for us old-timers here but also for the newbies struggling with fears and first awful diagnoses.
Happiness, health, and evermore love to you and Steve this year
with all my love
Meriel
You and Steve are walking miracles I think. God has blessed you with each other and us with your voice here.
Yes, who knows what this year will bring? There are always surprises aren\'t there and sometimes what we expect to happen does and sometimes it doesn\'t and that is simply because as you said, it is not ours to plan. It is ours to accept.
Happy New Year to all.
Gloria
Wanda, I am so glad Steve is healthy. Your family is blessed. I hate this cancer, I don\'t understand it. I really don\'t. I wish a kiss could make it and the pain go away.
This year will be a good year for all. I know it. For all!
I love you!
Christi
Wanda, I think you have been able to convey what all of us are thinking. You\'ve been so supportive to Steve and I know he appreciates it. He handles things his way and you do what is necessary for you. And the two of you blend beautifully. May all of us have a healthy and better 2013.
Andrea
Dear Wanda, it is already the 10th and I\'m just now seeing this. My new year is starting out better than the last 3 years combined. I think the reason is because for the first time in a long time I have hope in my heart again.
I believe Steve is a candle in the night....his life gives hope to so many. I know you are also a very important messenger of hope to everyone who is worried about their loved one\'s chances of survival with this cancer.
I wish you and your family the very best this year. Love, Linda
