I am learning to take things dayby day. In doing so, I am facing myself and my sense of pride. I used to want an answer that would make me as I was before, full of vim and competitiveness to strive…and achieve…“leap tall buildings in a single bound.” I am learning that there is adifferent kind of pride now. I have limits but I can still achieve, I can still assert and strive to achieve but I have a different framing of these issues. I am ok, I am just different than I was before. That’s ok. I am here, I am proud of myself although I am ‘different.’ Though I may not have the strength I had, like I had, it’s just different.
