a new track

been trying not to write my therapist emails. trying to consider her space

though she has said 'it's ok' I just think it's probably good not to.-

I've experienced some distressing things this week (who hasn't?)

been trying to just take a beat and keep going when it happens- but work has been going well -

I realize I need to become more inventive with my life

in the sense of being happy with having so little - and thinking that I have to be  - i find myself

saving my income with no consideration of how to live the process of day to day -

but I am also very grateful for what I have - Indeed I live very well

and my aim to be smart about what I spend I think is prudent -

and so spending a little more in new places - and shaving off

some expenses in habitual old places to try and balance my

experience and bank book and savings account.

I've been thinking about my mom since July 13 was her birthday.

It's rough.

In just the process of coming on here to write I realize I probably could continue

to hack away at writing that book that I've been trying.

I saw an interview this morning with a successful professional (billionaire inventor of Spanx)

and I just think it's probably a good idea for me to know what I want to give to

my readers - and stay pretty clear about that.

Right now - all the possibilities of what to write has me drilling down a bit - and susceptible

towards being self righteous - I want to offer the readers a life line and space to reflect.

I will think more about that.

Remembering the concept that my therapist offered that 'life can be understood as a series of

narcissistic injuries' - and so it is - just take a beat and keep going.

There's always more to come. :)

peace and almost Friday!! :)

What I do now is write an entry and keep it to myself instead of sending email. That way I'm still expressing what I want to say to someone, and I'm able to review it privately.

You're doing a great job!

Thé most interesting thing about writing (outside of this space, that is) is that I know what I want to say and convey, but not certain if it comes across clearly. Stories can be rich, vague, boring or intriguing but you just never know until it’s shared with other humans.

Many years ago, one of my favorite authors wrote a book and I was able to read an advance proof of it when I worked in a bookstore. I loved it so much that I decided to find an email and write to her. She wrote back immediately and was so happy for my feedback … and had been full of nerves awaiting any outside opinion apart from her mom, who always told her everything was great.

Writing is a good process for me in between therapy articulations. I just have the problem of rapid fire thoughts when I start to get manic in a big project. Baby steps. I’m learning a lot in my class….

While taking your therapist at face value that it really is okay to email her as often as you like, I also see great therapy value in broadening your support base. The broader your support base, the more complete your recovery.

Toward the end of broadening your support base, I have wondered often if it might be helpful for you to channel some of the recovery you have established here in your journal into being more active in the open forums. Taking the time and thought to share other people's pain provides me more healing mojo than all my pro dates put together. It helps me identify, review and nurture tools which have worked for me in the past.

Just wondering. . . It remains yours to sort.

I think you are very lucky to have found a therapist who wants you to email her. I think you should email her as often as needed because she told you to do so.

Did he eat the spider? I hate spiders.

I am not sure - it was there - and then next time I looked it was not there! He might have just scared it
under the couch! ha!
