a little praise & worship
another day.......i often think with shame in my heart. regretting the gift of days. who does that? me.......i admit it.
then i give myself a little time.......and it comes back to me. this is a new day. a fresh day. a day the Lord hath made........and I sit in wonder. bow my head and ask God to grace my words......
a song from childhood springs from the subconcious......
"do lord, oh do lord, oh do lord oh do remember me
do lord, oh do lord, oh do remember me.......do lord oh do lord oh do remember me
away beyond the blue
i took jesus as my savior you take him too
i took jesus as my savior you take him too
i took jesus as my savior you take him too
away beyond the blue
do lord.....oh do lord oh do remember me......oh lordy do lord .....
so despite the silence........the endless wetness surrounding me and my house.........i will remember the Lord. not regret not being at church. not regret being outta this house.....not regret feeling ....well feeling the way i do mentally, emotionally, spiritually.....instead i will turn my head, my hands and my heart to the Lord this day......for he is with me in this humble place....never minding the bed hair, the ratty old slippers......the funny blue sweater that is sizes to big.......he just takes in my plea and listens like the most amazing best friend anybody could ever wish for or need.......he takes me as i am, just one plea, shows me mercy, love, endurance, grace and faith.
love you........thank you Lord for today.
amen and amen.

I love that song. That takes me back to my childhood too. Yes, it can be hard to be grateful, but there are little gifts all around us. Much love.
Psalm 118:24 NIV. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Amen. This was my Bobbys daily devotional verse every day from the cancer diagnosis, til the day the Lord called him home.
It is now my life verse.
I don't know that song.I do know that we cannot make it through this crazy journey without God. I love all you girls. I love your spiritual devotion and your kind gentle hearts. I am lacking and spiritually lost. It's true.
Ruthie, That song brought back fond memories and I sang along as I read the words. I struggle with the sameness of each day, and end up discouraged from time to time. I have recently started having regular prayer times throughout the day - very short ones. When I wake up, and noon, dinner time, and before bed. I don't always remember every time, or don't feel up to it every time, but by the time I get to the dinner time prayer, I think, "What do you know, I made it through another day, with God's help." Not just made it through, but often enjoyed my own little corner of the world. When the days seem endless, it's a touchstone to keep me "grounded" in Jesus. xoxo, ELLE
