a little nervous

Hello everyone,  Tomorrow is the big day.  Steve will have scans at Carolinas Medical Center.  This will be the first scan since the radiation.  I am a little nervous.  Steve has not mentioned worrying about it so I won't either.  He has been working so hard to get the pool opened. We have agreed that if the liner or something major goes wrong with it we will fill it in.  We have had it for 28 years and I am just tired of it.  I would like to fill it in and build a new patio out back.  But the thing won't die!  He would be mad if he knew I wanted it to die, he won't hear of filling it in just yet.  The thing is I don't get in unless it is about 90% . He and the grandaughter get in when she is here.  He does all the care of it so why am I complaning? I hate to see him in the heat, but I will just quit whining, just grateful he can still do it and it is good for him.  Oh did I mention that I don't swim?  If I don't quit fussing  he will throw me in the deep end!  and that will be the end of me.
I thought I would share a story of a young girl who lived about 10 miles from here.  She was in nursing school and graduated with a RN degree. ( they had to present it in the hospital) She became really sick the last few weeks she went to school, complaining of gall bladder attacks.  When they put her in the hospital and did the surgery the doctors discovered cancer.  It had consumed her body. She was engaged to be married and within a month of being dianosed she was dead. It has left everyone around here in such shock.  She was 21 years old. And really a  very pretty young woman.  She was buried yesterday.  Her young husband to be is beside himself.  Please pray for him and the family.  Another one of those WHY questions?
I tell you this my DS family because the folks on this site know how to appreciate the days and even the hours we spend with our loved ones. Life is not promised to any of us, tell the ones you love every single day how much they mean to you. Share a few minutes doing nothing.  I am "preaching to the choir"  we know how to love each other don't we.
Prayers are appreciated for tomorrow.  Scans make me nervous.
Love to each of you,
Wanda
