a little hug
Hello everyone,
When I first came to DS almost 2 years ago so many people were on this site that I became good friends with. I know that part of the grief process is to gradually move on. A lot of people have done that. I wish them the very best. I had one friend who messaged me after her husband died that she was leaving this cancer world but wanted to thank me for being her friend. I thought that was very nice.
That is my goal to give encouragement to others and I intend to continue to pray and minister to those who want me to. This site has been a very real help to me and I know to those who continue to battle.
We saw the doctor for blood work yesterday and Steve is doing good. He had a rough month of Sutent last cycle. His feet became so sore that he could barely walk. Bedroom shoes to church, etc. Don't quite understand the why of it, some months no soreness and the next cycle really bad. But he knows he is blessed to know it is still working. Oh did I mention ill as a bear?
I take it in stride and not let the hurtful words rain on me. I know he does not mean them. I can be like a mother bear in the woods when I get a high blood sugar so we are even on that score. Oh the laughs and tears of a 45 year marriage. Oh and how I have cried those tears in the past 13 years. Cancer sucks and all that goes with it.
I know I am blessed, when I think of so many who have lost their mates since I joined this site. Way too many to list, I love you all.
Till next time, hugs to everyone!

Wanda you are so sweet and so special to so many of us here! I believe this site is definitely one of your ministries for using the gifts God gave you. You have helped me more than you could ever know. I will never have a 45 year marriage, but can imagine that the laughs and tears are double what they were in my 27 year one. The important thing is that the laughs outnumber the tears! I always had laughs with Dan. He was such a funny guy, it was natural for him. Me, not so much but I am working on it. I think we have to practice playing, little things go a long ways. I have had so many emotional problems the past week or so that I am surprised James didn\'t run for the hills, but Sunday one of the ladies at church sent James a little mini banana nut loaf since he couldn\'t be at church. He said, \"Cute, I wonder if she has a little mini loaf pan she baked this in.\" Without missing a beat, I said, \"Nope, she just poured a magic batter right into the oven and it incredibly formed itself into these tiny little loaves\" Something dumb, but that shared laugh can go so far in making up for the \"bear\" spells. Somehow, I imagine your house has a lot of shared laughs too...I still remember the raincoat story and it makes me giggle every time I think of it!
Bless you!
Angie
Wanda, I am so happy that Steve\'s blood work came back good. Those darn sores on the feet. From Joe\'s experience I know it is so painful. I know exactly what you mean when you say, \"you don\'t know the why of it. Your posting is so beautiful and sweet. Thank-you for sharing. Angels on your body with Lots of Love, Jeana............
Wanda, we are all blessed you have you part of our lives and you have helped me more than I can say. luv and hugs from Texas, Annette
Dear Wanda.
You have been a great friend and inspiration. As to the why of it, hah! WHO would ever know the answer to those whys? If there is one word that I have repeated over and over and over these last months (aloud or to myself or in my private prayers) it would be that one - w-h-y? Why do some do so well, and others not? Why does cancer exist? Why can\'t we beat it? Why does the Lord rain down these horrors on people who DO NOT DESERVE IT?
There is no answer........I will try to stay on board here and try to help others whenever i can.

Well, you and I will not part...I will meet you one day and you\'ll just have to accept that I\'m a life-long friend.
I hope you and Steve are here for me for a long time to come...I need and want your friendship. Take care...Love, Linda
Love you all for your sweet comments!
Wanda
Sweet Wanda, you are such a special person. I know that I wouldn\'t have made it calmly through last year without your friendship and support and that of my other DS family.
I am so happy for you both that Steve had good blood results.
Love you Angel xx
Wanda, you are a great encourager! I have been so thankful for your kind insightful words in the past, as well as your great faith. Hope that Steve fares better this next week, not so sore, and not so growly, for your sake. Laughter and tears...that\'s how we all survive.
Love,
Karen
Dearest Wanda, I\'m another who you won\'t get rid of, even from so far away....I know where you live!!! i know I\'ve been quiet recently - adjusting to this new reality - will journal in a minute...
Good news about the bloods and I hope the feet improve - as for the temper...
