A little fear
Actually it's supposed to be a good thing. We have it to make our bodies able to react to danger. As such we can become more alert and aware of our environment. So it seems at this stage of my life. That it is difficult to be afraid of anything. Truthfully if death frightens me. It doesn't do so as much as it used to do. And my fear of failure is nearly gone. My accomplishments such as they are will be enough for me to be content. There's too little time left not to live and enjoy living. So rain or shine. Sick or well. I will be who I want to be unapologetically. If I want to be a scoundrel. I'll do it only to the extent that I do little to no harm. I want to continue living and loving. There's too many interesting folks in the world to not get acquainted with some of them. And if I shound die tomorrow. When faced with my past. I will watch it with no regrets. I will feel remorse for the wrong things I've done. But I continue to honestly seek forgiveness for those things. Forgiving myself is still a challenge. But if God can forgive me. Who am I to go against the grain ? And back to fear. The only one I hold onto is that I should somehow be changed. That through a fundamental shift in personality as in a brain injury or stroke. I would not be the same compassionate sweet guy I know I can be. Other than that little else really rattles me.
