A little bit of Heaven
Sometimes you have to go through hell in order to recognize the little bit of heaven in your life. I lost my husband in March and in July I moved in with my dad. That's was when I was at my lowest, the arguing between us non-stop, and me with no strength to handle it all.
Now it's September, and I'm feel like I'm in heaven. I sitting here, having just finished another chapter in a story I'm writing. I'm listening to Shakira, in front of my new fireplace in my new apartment. I've got the whole place decked out in blues, yellows and greens. It's sunny and cheerful. There's only me and the bird and it feels good. I don't think I would have realized how good it feels had I not moved in with my dad and gone through hell because of it.
I've learned how to love my job. I've learned how to enjoy the solitude of an empty house. And simple things like putting a bottle of spice on my own shelf takes on new meaning. There's an old song, ' God Bless the Child Who Got His Own." Wow, how true.
I've made some decisions in my life. One, I will keep working till God tells me to move on. And Two, absolutely will I not marry. I would love to have DH back, but I'll have to wait for that. Until then, I won't take a chance on ruining my peace with the sort of men available for the poor women out there now. I was married to one great guy and that will have to do for a lifetime.
I feel good!

Amen, sister. I love the quiet that I come home to (when the kids aren\'t there) and appreciate the place that I am at this moment in time. Been on the dating scene for a while, and not liking what I am seeing or hearing from men. I think single is where I am at peace at also!
Hang in there. Hugs~Shauna
It\'s your decision. You know what you want and what you don\'t want which is half the battle. With me, my choices are different. It is nice living by yourself. You certainly went thru hell living with you dad but now you are coming out into a positive area of your life. I was not really looking when Dave and I met. It just happened. I had my eyes open to the opposite sex but didn\'t feel like I was ready for the dating pool. When Alla introduced us, the rest was history. If you keep the door shut, no one can enter your life. I found that out to be true for myself. I don\'t regret a thing. I am actually enjoying the Excel Course that I am taking. Now I am going thru all the exercises so I can be ready for the test. I am nervous about the test and never do good on tests because of it. My daughter Lisa and grandson Tyon are coming over just after lunch so I am looking forward to it. All the best with your own life choices for yourself. From Diane Baillie
Congratulations. You give some hope and inspiration to the rest of us.
I could n\'t be happier for you and hope I will find the same peace someday soon.

I am happy you are at a peaceful place in your life and in your home. It\'s a goal that I think we all try to reach.

It is so good to hear that you are happy in your new apartment after all the anxiety you had making the decision to move out of your Dad\'s. Also very perseptive of you to acknowledge that staying at your Dad\'s made this such a positive step in your life. Such a upbeat post and an inspiration to me since I am having such anxiety myself about moving to an apartment. Thanks for sharing. Hug Donna
