A LITTLE BETTER....
Tuesday, May 5: I am a bit better. For the first time in my life I truly understand why "cutters" cut. Yesterday, I tripped over one of my student's foot. (It was not his fault...just an accident, and clumsiness on my part) I sprained my ankle, bruised my knee, and hurt my wrist! Oh, and my back is not in great shape, either. OUCH! How embarassing, too. A whole classroom full! And, another student was laughing so hard...he was not being malicious....it was just such a sight to see "Mrs. Grant" tumbling all over the place! However, I have been thinking more about my physical pain than my emotional. I hurt! I DO NOT bounce! So today I have gone back and forth about which hurts more...my ankle or my knee. Thank goodness our school has an elevator! I usually walk the stairs many times a day! In any case, the physical pain actually was worse, today, than the emotional! Everyone who made comments and sent personal messages helped me so much. Sometimes, I think, I just get caught up in only one perspective....mine. It helps to see it from another point of view. I had a friend visit last night. I am very worried about her. She lost/quit/almost fired, her job. She broke up with her boyfriend. She is thirty-three. Anyway, she is not doing well. I don't know how to help her and she doesn't really seem ready to help herself. I don't have a lot of energy for anything except to just keep being her friend. She is such a sweet girl/lady. I will give what I can give! I truly adore her...she is like a daughter I never had and a friend, too! A friend (girl) of Scott's is getting married this coming Saturday. It was/is so sweet of her to invite us to the wedding. It should be a beautiful ceremony, and fancy. And, she is a beautiful girl. I am looking forward to it. Except, Scott should be here, too. That makes me sad. He should be getting married, being a bridesgroom, having babies, whatever.....I am so happy for his friends to be getting on with their lives and so sad that my Scott will never experience any of these things. Chris seems to be falling in love! I am happy for him! He has not been "lucky in love." This time, maybe, it will work! I have not met her yet. But, he sure is "smitten!" Adam is having relationship troubles. His current girlfriend does not understand why he still has Melissa's photos around. Melissa has only been gone eleven months. I told him it is good, on one hand, that she doesn't understand grief. On the other, it makes it hard for him. Obviously, Melissa is no threat! But, they are young and things look differently to them! So, my roller coaster ride continues! Will it ever end?!?!? I almost feel manic! One day I am okay....the next I am in my deep, dark, hole!

I know the manic feeling well, up and down like a yoyo. Although, at the moment the balance is more down. Mothers\' Day is Sunday... and Frazer\'s angel date is coming around as you know. I hope you are soon out of pain, emotional and physical. No matter how many others feel pain, it doesn\'t alleviate our own. If everyone in the class had fallen over and hurt their ankle and knee, would that make yours feel any better? No, In fact, it would still hurt if their injuries were worse and they\'d all broken their leg! We all need help with our pain, no matter how minor or major it appears in comparison to others\' issues. Take care... and watch those stray feet!!! Hugs Charlotte. xox
I have those awful mood swings and boy it is like a rollercoaster. I can change withing minutes. I guess it is just me being half crazy from grief. Hres\'s to better daysLove Peg
Ginger...that\'s terrible about the fall. Hope you feel better soon, even though you may feel even sorer tomorrow. We recently went to a wedding of one of Chris\'s friends. It was so nice, but at the same time I had to really try to hold back the tears because this was somewhere he should have been. It was hard, but I\'m glad we went. You are right....this is a rollercoaster ride. Some days we fall fast..but then slowly climb back up. Hope you feel better soon !! Hugs, Kim
Bless your heart...falling, hurting yourself and front of your students! Take care of yourself, rest when you can. Sounds like lots is going on in your life...and I think we all feel a little manic...maybe that is our new normal...lol. Love to you...Karen
Just know I\'m thinking of you.Peaceful wishes,Vicki
Falling is not easy at our age. Glad you didn\'t get hurt bad. Just be a friend to your friend & help her that way. Sending you hugs & love....Connie
I\'m sorry that you fell and got hurt, worse yet, suffered the humiliation of it happening in front of the students. OUCH!
The roller-coaster we are on is very normal, I believe, and there isn\'t a thing we can do to make it stop. I believe (and hope) it will slow down on its\' own at some point, but for me I know it will never stop. My son was the best part of me, that now is gone,..simple as that. Hugs to you! Judy
I am sorry about your fall. I know you must be sore! I know it is bittersweet watching your son\'s friends lives move on. My son\'s best friend recently got married in Las Vegas and he and my son and their g/f\'s had all planned on making the trip out there together. I am thinking of you this evening. Hugs, Belinda
Sorry to hear about your accident, you must be sore. That is one thing that I think actually works against emotionally pain, physical pain, I don\'t recommend it but it works. Maybe we should try lithium for bi-polar disorder and keep us just level. Lol Love and hugs Cathy
Sorry to hear about your fall; be careful - hopefully the injuries will heal quickly; and the pain will ease soon. You are so sweet to be concerned over your friend;
any type of loss is tough these days - trust me I know - I personally believe your strength will help her - get through this. Take care honey.
