A hard week

Good morning,
We are doing ok. On Tuesday morning Steve got up early, took a shower and came into the den.  He has not been able to drink his morning coffee because of nausea.  He started to the bathroom because he felt sick.  He started to wretch when all of a sudden he grabbed his side and started to cry out.  He could not sit down, stand up or lay down he was hurting so badly!  This is in the side that he has been hurting in for months.
Long story short, the doctors think he has pulled a muscle in that spot!  Morphine, muscle relaxers and nausea pills later he has barely begun to move around!  He has said that of all the things he had been through this has been the worse pain he has ever had.  He is afraid to move because the slightest move in the wrong direction feels like someone is stabbing him!
His has not been able to put his clothes on,  (PJ's) so I have taken care of him like a baby. He has been discouraged and I have been trying to keep his spirits up. Not an easy task when you are feeling a little down yourself!
He was sleeping in his chair ( in another room)  when he heard me crying.  He came into the den and said why are you crying?   "We are BOTH going to get through this,  God is going to take care of us".
Yes, God will take care of us!  One day at a time we will fight this horrible disease until the day we meet our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Will I be scared, yes you can count on it,  but when we are called home it will be to a place of no sorrow or pain. No cancer!!  Thank you Lord for that promise!  I praise your Holy Name!
God bless you all,
Wanda

please KNOW that we are ALL hoping that his pain gets better FOR BOTH OF YOU. Him in hving it, and you in watching helplessly. I know too well what that feels like as so many of us do.

Oh Wanda, I am so sorry for your tears. I know that they clense the soul and help the spirit. It is so hard to watch the one we love in pain, and the fear is doubled, one for him and one you. I know that with God\'s grace you both will get through this. Repeat things as many times as you need, we don\'t mind, believe me. Hugs Jane

Wanda. Please try to stay strong for each other. I can only imagine how difficult this is when you are both suffering so much. I myself do not get the support I need from my partner and it makes for a really lonely existence especially when I dont feel well enough to go out to socialise. You two are so strong and supportive you need to keep working at it through all the highs and the lows as this is what will get you through. Best wishes x

Dear Wanda,
I totally understand your stress and anxiety. It\'s awful to watch someone we love going through such terrible times. I will be praying for Steve and you, my dear friend.
I love you,
Ingrid

Wanda - your wonderful faith and spirit and belief will get you through this and each and every test of faith that may come ahead. You are a wonderful example for all of us. God bless you both.
DId he get any new scans of that area? He should. FInd out what the heck is going on there to cause such pain. There are things that can be done, depending on what is the cause. He can be helped.

Wanda, honey, it was so lovely to chat with you the other day. I know that you can deal with everything that is thrown at you. You and your husband and your unshakeable faith - a wonderful team of three.
Wishing you calm, wishing Steve a lessening of pain.
much love, Meriel

Dear Wanda, I understand your stress and I hope that Steve\'s pain is sorted out soon, poor man. All you want to do is make it better for him. It is such a cruel disease. He is battling on so bravely and you are both an inspiration. My love and prayers go out to you. Nita

Thank you everyone. He had scans on Feb 29 of this year and had no change in disease status. That\'s why they think it is muscle/skelatal damage from the radiation.. Dang can\'t spell that word. He had six weeks of radiation in 5 treatments. The docs think he has pulled a muscle in that same area of pain. He is feeling some better and able to get a bath. Still can\'t bend over but is much better! thank you Lord!

Wanda, how frightening for both of you. No wonder you are so stressed. Steve\'s pain must have been horrific and it so hard when you see your loved ones in that pain and yet we are helpless to take it away for them.
I am glad he is feeling some better. You two together are so strong and your love for each other is so beautiful. Just remember to look after yourself as well as looking after your Steve.
Love you, precious lady. Angel
