A good thing...
Well, here it is Saturday already; a while back when I was in a pampering mood, I signed up for the VIP massage program at a local spa where you get one massage a month for a very good price... anyway you have to commit to 12 months... So... I did leave and go do that today, just for an hour... I came back a new person. The massage person said my muscles were tighter than usual - no kidding!! Anyway, it was good and was actually what I needed. I'm trying very hard not to allow stress to drive me to gambling... I wish I could say I'm 100% sure it won't... I will just take one step at a time... it is amazing how close we come to wavering, even if we know how horrible it is. It is something that is always with you - no matter how much time goes by. Now I know that the urges do subside and have experienced that first hand, but the thought processes are not that easy to break. Just venting... what I'm going through is just "reality" of stopping gambling - becoming aware of my thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. that lead to the wrong actions. Thanks for reading all this stuff - I'm moving on now to my house projects. The support on here is great - - so helpful. Just writing the words on paper - - -all better now - - - for the moment. :] Hugs to all, Smokeygirl

I love love love massages!!!!! That is great you signed up for that program!!!
You know, I still get urges. They are definitely not nearly as strong as when I first quit. Now, I have to remind myself that I cannot just gamble a little, or once in a while, or only with money I can \"afford to lose\" (no such thing).....If I went, it would not be with just a little money, and I know I would crave to go back even worse.....it might be a long time before I could quit again, and I would have undone all the good I\'ve done in the last year, maybe get in even deeper.....so.....
It\'s not worth it, it\'s not worth fooling myself.
Just for today, I will not gamble.
Love you sistah..... :-)

So glad you\'re on DS...love your entries. I sometimes entertain thoughts of gambling, fortunately don\'t last long.
The massage sounds nice, glad you treated yourself...
Happy New Year,
hugs
