A dream

I had a very weird dream this morning...I am hoping someone can help me find a lesson in it or help me decide there is no lesson, just a mish-mash of random thoughts and feelings.
Okay, here in my neck of the woods there are a lot of rambling dirt roads. So as the dream started I was driving and looking for some kind of animal rescue place or something to do with animals. I had my young friend Ashley with me. She is 23 years old and as close to a surrogate daughter to me. I also had some sort of combination of my little dog Chloe and Cassi...small, maybe a toddler. I carried Chloe/Cassi when we walked. We got lost trying to find the place we were looking for and knew we had to backtrack and start over. I had to pee really bad...at this point Ashley must have been driving because I told her to pull over somewhere private. This may be incomprehensible to some of you who have always lived in cities...but, uhmm, yeah, I wanted to pee in the woods, lol. So she stopped, I did my business. For some reason we left my truck and started walking. I have no idea why. Either I have forgotten that part or there was so reason. We set out on foot to find what we were looking for. So there was nothing around but miles of dirt roads and woods...we were walking and saw something in the distance. As we were approaching Ashley saw something first and started getting upset saying."Oh God, I hope that's not what I think it is"...as we got closer we realized it was a black dog, like a black Lab...but it was dead, standing up on all fours, like it was a taxidermy. I remember holding Cassi/Chloe and trying to keep her from seeing it and getting upset. So as we kept walking, we saw other dogs, the same way...we kept going and saw more and more animals staged and I told her there must be a taxidermist living close by. I was struggling to keep my emotions in check and not let Cassi/Chloe figure out what was going on and get upset. At some point, we decided we did not want to turn around and see them again. We thought we were so far into it is was better to keep going and get the heck out of there...but we came upon a building with so many animals, all different animals. I was terrified that the evil taxidermist was going to come out of the building and see us...in the dream I was imagining him...older, maybe late 60's, balding, overweight, wearing a blood soaked apron with crazy eyes. I was so scared and worried about my baby, Cassi/Chloe. Again we decided to keep going...we knew the terrors we had seen would still be there but we didn't know what the road ahead would be like, so we kept walking. I woke up feeling a lot of anxiety, the vision of the stuffed dogs are still clear in my mind, terrifying and heartbreaking at the same time.
Sorry if I have creeped anyone out, it was a creepy dream.
Does anyone have an idea what it could have been about???

Maybe you are still \"carrying\" Cassi? Did it feel like other people had just \"left\" those other animals there?
I don\'t know about you, but I need to allow God to pick up Patrick and heal him. Or should I say, accept the fact that He already has. It is no longer my job to try to pick up the pieces of his broken spirit.
It is the hardest thing ..to let God have it. It doesn\'t mean we have forgotten our kids. It means that we now they are where they are free to carry us. How unnatural to let go of that. Carry as long as you need. Love, Lauri

I hate those dreams. I have no idea what the dream means, though Lauri\'s explanation sounds good.
Take care,
Love to Cassi.

Thank you Lauri!!! I can see that, still trying to protect Cassi from heartache and we are both animal lovers...and my little Chloe is definitely like my baby girl and I carry her around all the time. I remember reading somewhere that our children are not really ours, they are God\'s and we were just entrusted with their care and like you said, that is very, very hard to understand and accept. I have never been more possessive of anything or anyone more than her, lol. She was MINE!!! M.I.N.E....and I was like a rabid animal trying to protect her...and you know what??? She was with me too...even near the end when she was in such mental and emotional torment and could be very mean to me...when it came down to it, she wanted to protect me. Her last phone call to her Daddy was to make sure I wasn\'t out driving on the icy roads...this was less that a week before she died. Thank you Lauri and Thank you Marlene.

Hi Gina, I have had many sad, creepy dreams since Ed left for Heaven. I think that as Lauri said, you may be carrying Cassi. And perhaps since we have been plunged into confronting death since our child has died you were carrying Cassi/Chloe and trying to shield them from death and the evil man since in the dream death in the form of those taxidermied animals was all around you. I don\'t know but as Lauri said, when you are ready just know that God\'s love is carrying, enveloping and encompassing Cassi. I don\'t believe God caused my son\'s passing but I do believe God knew it was coming and prepared Ed\'s mansion for him. Cassi is in her mansion too my friend. we just have to learn how to live without our kids physically here. Love and peace, Linda
