A double crisis.
I started my first shift on Friday evening, 6 pm. The sick old lady was much weaker than when I saw her 2 days ago. She had contracted a tummy virus, and had severe diarrhea. Also her blood pressure was low. By 5 am the next morning her blood pressure had dropped dangerously low, and she was not fully alert anymore. I phoned her daughter, who came over immediately. She and her husband phoned an ambulance to take the old lady to hospital. About 3 minutes later I saw an ambulance pull up to the house next door, where the old lady's sick son and his wife live. I thought the ambulance was at the wrong house, but then I was told that the sick son's wife had a bad epileptic seizure, and had to be taken to hospital as well. She sustained minor brain injuries during her seizure. The son has heart and kidney failure, and needs a hip replacement operation as soon as his condition is better. The old lady's condition is critical, and because she has no medical insurance, her daughter and s-i-l is paying all her medical costs.
I feel overwhelmed today, having stepped into that family's lives when such tragedy struck them. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that God led me into their lives for a reason. And I also feel sad, because so much of what happened reminded me of Colleen's last struggle on earth. But I know that my baby is safe, whole and happy now, in heaven with Jesus!

So sorry to hear all of this.....it just amazes me how everything seems to happen at the same time.
I do believe everyone who crosses our path during our human experience is meant to.....there is always a lesson, and a deeper understanding of Love and Truth to be learned.
I wish the very best for all, including YOU!
Love and tight heart hugs~~Teri
Loving care your way as you hold your hands and heart as I feel what a compassionate heart you have.
Healing in abundance and one foot in front of the other on this path that does bring these earth angels to help us with our healing as we reach out in service to others.
Heartfelt (((hugs)))
