A DO LITTLE DAY!
Sat. night, 8-23-08: I didn't do much today...one load of laundry. I didn't even get it folded. I don't care. I have been reading and floating in the pool. Craig went to a car show today with a couple of his friends. I just floated in the pool. I did swim a little but the water is still pretty cold. My friend did not come today. (I knew she might not) She wants to come over tomorrow but I don't think that will work for me. It sure can be hard to get together with people. While I was in the pool the most amazing cloud was overhead. I decided to get out and get my camera. Of course when I came back outside that cloud was gone. But, I laid there on my raft, camera ready, and caught what I hope to be some awesome shots. One looked like an old woman kissing a baby. I will post them when I get them developed. It is always peaceful to me in the pool. I listen to the bugs, birds, and wind. Sometimes, I cry there. But always it is a place to rest and/or reflect. (And work on my tan...lol) When I went outside this morning there was a truck in my drive. I asked Craig who's it was. He said, "Mine." "Excuse me?" "Mine/ours." I told him he could have at least consulted me. He said he didn't want to argue about it. Actually, I am glad. Now, Adam can have Craig's small Nissan truck and get a job. That has been an issue. I just couldn't seem to get Craig to understand we were going to have to help Adam with a vehicle. He kept complaining about Adam not working and I kept telling him he has to have transportation in order to work. Anyway, it is a very nice Ford truck that a friend of ours had. We know it has been taken care of. Of course, it will be a gas hog but we don't drive too much except for too and from work. Craig and I seem to have real communication problems...... Scotty story: When Scott was 3, I was a stay-at-home Mom. We had a HUGE tree in the back yard with really soft dirt under it from the kids playing. Scott loved to play with his Hot Wheel cars in that dirt. I could watch him from the kitchen window and do the dishes. (No dishwasher, then) He loved being outside! It was early fall and I put his little red windbreaker on and pulled his hood on. I opened the side door for him and he stepped out. I started toward the window when Scott came back in and said, "Somebody frew someping at me!" He was clearly not happy about it. Indignant, even. I looked out the door, also very indignant, and saw no one. I told him I thought it would be fine and I didn't know what happened because no one was there. As he turned around to head back out the door, I saw, on the back of his hood, a VERY large bird dropping! I laughed so hard, cleaned it up, and sent him on his Hot Wheel mission. It was so funny and cute.

What a sweet story, kind of gross, but sweet! Yea, I understand the entire communication thing, or lack there of. I\'m living proof right now, long story... How I would just love to relax for a bit. It\'s time for a vacation! I\'m going to San Diego in September, but I need one now! Your pool is sounding better and better... Love ya, Barbara
Good to hear that you are enjoying your pool while you can. When you are back at school, you\'ll wish you could be floating in it! Winter comes round too quickly. We have had an extremely wet winter this year with storm after storm, so I\'ll be pleased to see the sun later in the year.
Cute story about Scott. I know that \'indignance\' of a 3 year old! Gorgeous. Charlotte
What a wonderful story! I think it\'s good to remember the good ones with a smile. You husband and mine must be related...oh wait, they\'re both men! No joke, my husband and I have a serious communication problem too. The communication used to be all one way (me to him), but now I don\'t seem to care enough to try any more than he does. Sending you love and hugs and wishes for many more peaceful hours floating in the pool! Cyn Did I mention I\'m jealous!
Cute memory! Thanks for the smile this morning.
Very cute memory. Have a good day
What a wonderful Scotty story! Aren\'t they just precious at that age?? Glad you are enjoying your pool as much as you can--soon it will be all over until next summer. Where DOES the time go? Hugs!
I enjoyed reading your journal.
too funny. Moms are such wonderful people. They clean up bird poop and never crack a smile. The floating sounds like fun can I come. Love and hugs Cathy
