A busy weekend

We celebrated Valentine's day early, it was nice dinner & a movie with good conversation.  The next morning I left for a roughly 30 hours to help my mother with the dealings of my uncle's estate.  This was something that was met with confusing emotional behavior from my wife, and then followed by a lengthy email by her trying to explain her confusing behavior.  We took care of all we needed to and I was back home around 4 in the afternoon, I had returned to normalcy it seemed.  Last night we netflixed and then had a much lengthier discussion than either of anticipated about the near future of "where we are headed".  Sometimes with everything going on I lose sight of how bad her hurt is, I know I fucked "us" up and I'm trying to do in my mind the "right thing".  It's just my "right thing" isn't quite her "right thing".  We are working on getting on the right page, and I think the open lines of communication is getting us there.  I had the urge to lie last night, something i hadn't felt in awhile.  I didn't  but was still scolded for "sitting" on this information for 8 hours before telling her, I still told her the truth, it just wasn't quick enough.  This is the "getting on the same page" thing, I struggle with.  I seem to get frustrated while having these conversations and in the heat of them I can't put into words why, but now that I've tossed and turned about it for half the night, I think it stems from seeing how I've hurt her and seeing the anguish on my wife's face.  It goes all over me.  It was a few days of ups and downs but overall it was good.
