a body in motion stays in motion

I went to work this morning then came home and ate lunch and then off to the office.

I have a social event coming up tomorrow mid morning, that's inspired a lot of fret, worry, and hand trembling.

But I have got to say what I've noticed here is that my instinct to calm myself by sitting still and cocooning

adds to the stiffening of my body and it doesn't help. I have tried to do some stretches and open my shoulders

and posture. I couldn't make my yoga class today as I had things to do to prep for the event.

But the stretches I've done here at home has really reminded me of the phrase "a body in motion stays in motion."

Just sharin' :) :)

I get that, too. It is a huge part of why I run the other way from people who know what an Ashram is. Sitting is hard, hard work for me. Doing some stretches before sitting helps allot, but I get far more meditation mileage out of Tai Chi and it's off-shoot, guit-chi where I wear my guitar during the stretching and add some sonic massage through the sound box of the guitar.

That basic law of science is gospel in Arf World, as well as the rest of it, that an object at rest stays at rest. Hence, the muscle stiffening after sitting a significant length of time.

Hope all goes well tomorrow. When I feel overly anxious I take deep breaths in and out slowly and that seems to help.
