A Bit Upset, But of Course :)

I'm upset, but I'm not.
Friday has always been movie and treat night.  We go to the dollar store, everyone picks a treat, we grab a movie from the library and we all sit and snuggle on the couch and watch it.  The last 3/4 Fridays Joey has blown it off to go play poker with his pals.
I went shopping this evening, and got home by 830.  Instead of just sitting down and watching a movie just he and her, like I had done the previous two Fridays, he kept her up and active with the promise that 'we' would watch it together once I got home.  So I get home, theres a mess on the floor that he says he will clean, and didn't, and Marlow is exhausted.  I get her in her jammies and we go downstairs to watch Bolt, she's been waiting for hours after all.  He says 'I'll be down in a minute' then he proceeds to watch half hour of TV upstairs, comes down, kisses her on the head, and leaves for poker.
Thanks asshole.  But you know what?  I don't need you to have fun with her.  And we certainly don't need you for family night anymore, after all, she thinks family night is just her and I.  And you know what?  Next time you keep her awake late by pumping her full of sugar JUST so you don't have to watch a movie that I didn't particularily want to watch either, and brush her teeth and get her to bed, you can take her to poker.  Or better yet, STAY HOME.
I shouldn't have to tell you this.  Plus, since I've taken a step back It's no longer my job to point out how you are taking yourself out of her life bit by bit.
I'm mad, but I'm not.  It just gave me a little more reinforcement that maybe I am doing the right thing.
