A bit bored today.
Today wasn't exciting at all. I woke up late for the meeting, but then I thought better to be late than not go at all. Only missed the opening readings anyway, so I got there in time for the discussion. Mostly I go to those meetings so I can just be around some good people. Don't get too much really out of the discussions. I like the Thursday meeting better in Cambridge. Came home, tried laying down for awhile with the cats, but couldn't get back to sleep. Stayed up a bit too long last night. I was chatting on here, and someone needed to talk about a problem they were having. I was glad that I did stay up tho. Really felt for this person. I just shared about my experiances, and by the end I really felt that I had given my all. Made me think that I was serving a real purpose, like we should be doing. I felt that God was very happy with me when I went to bed. I had a smile on my face, and felt that real contentment. It was very nice. I find that getting involved here on D.S. I really feel good. I'm not trying to be a counselor or nothing, only sharing my experiances, and it's making me feel worthy, and that I have a purpose. I kept my promise to myself and walked to the Sobriety Center. Dillon was there with his wife, and we talked awhile about meetings, and what I've been learning lately. I really want to try and start some meetings about, "Back to basics." This one that I attende on Thursday nights takes after that. I really believe that is the way it should be. To many things have been allowed to change in A.A. that I think they really have lost the real message, and program. people really don't seem like they know what their doing now, and I think so many get lost in the confusion. I know that I did. For so long I've been just going in circles. In and out of A.A. It would be good for awhile because I'de start feeling better, but then I would get lost, and not feel I was getting anywhere. I'de get fed up, and out I'de go again. I don't want to do that anymore. I'm tired of it. I feel like I've wasted too many years, and it's just too damned hard trying to get back up. I know that I have a good potential to work in something to do with addictions, and I would like to do that. I haven't believed in myself enough to really try, but I think I really can. I know that when I do get involved with anything that helps people concerning addictions, it really makes me feel good. that's something to look at tho, a little later. Perhaps Dillon has some ideas. but that's basically all I did. I've had the computer going most of the day, so I've been on here. It wasn't that great out today. Cloudy and cold. Been pretty cold in here too. I don't want to use my heaters because I don't want to run the hydro bill up. Cats have been lazy too. Slept most of the day. There up now, but quiet. Can't wait till I get some work again. That was nice going there anytime I wanted. Always gave me something to do. Oh well, just have to accept that there's days like this. Glad I'm sober anyway. Thank you, Lord.
