A BETTER DAY...
I am still in a funk. But, 1st thing this morning my friend from Kansas called and she is coming to visit Friday morning. I imagine she will stay at least the weekend. I haven't seen her since Scott's funeral. Then, I took one of my favorite students, from last school year, out for a picnic lunch. I hadn't seen him in about 30 days and missed him so much. He was glad to see me too and kept hugging me and holding my hand. He is 12 but more like a 4 or 5 year old in many ways. We had a good time. He played on the equipment, we fed the ducks and geese, we went into a small cave, and threw rocks in the water. In the cave he said, "Bear, where are you?" I told him he was probably in the forest and he seemed satisfied with that. It was too cute. I think he is my angel on earth and maybe I am one of his. His mom never lets him go with people because he can be a handful on occasion. I feel honored she trusts me. And his Mom and sister were able to have a couple of hours for just them. It did make me feel better to do something with and for someone else. Adam bought an old (1986) Lincoln Town Car. It is more like a boat! But, he didn't have one at all and this one looks decent, inside & out, and runs. He only paid $200.00 for it. If he can just drive it until he gets a job and can get another, smaller car, he can haul it off to the junk yard and make his money back. It does need new rear brakes but that is not awfully expensive. So, another day. A little bit better day. I just don't know from one moment to the next what turns my life will take.

Good to hear a little more joy in your journal. Hang on in there. Hugs.
Wonderful! What a blessing for you and your student! I am so proud of you for giving of yourself to both this student and the mom...maybe that is one of your purposes in life...! I have found that I feel better when I focus on others instead of myself and my loss. Good for you! Take care and always enjoy the days that you can...love and hugs...Karen
Ginger, you have just been through so much. And you held it together amazingly well. I think the funk now may be the let down after going through the angel date and all the rest. I\'m so glad you\'re feeling just a bit better today. I\'m in a crazed rush. Wedding only 10 days away, company less than that! ARGH!!!! Sending you love and hugs, Cyn
