Today has not been a good day. I got up late. breakfast was good cereal and banana and didnt finish it. Went to mcdonalds for lunch and for some reason I thought that 2 mcchickens were a reasonable lunch. It wasn't until I had scarfed down both that it occurred to me I should have bought only 1. My mind still thinks in large quantities of food. I didn't have any fries or soda so at least I have to give myself credit for that. I did 120 steps on the treadmill this morning but barely made it. I couldnt do anymore later because I was watching my grandbabies and they didnt give me a moment to breathe. I had a really empty feeling today. reckognizing that I have to let my son go and let him hit rock bottom. dinner didnt go much better. just an icky day.

Sorry you had a bum day. Just remember there are people here who care about you and want things to improve. Today is now over, and you have a tomorrow full of new possibilities. Never give up hope. Look for better things in the new day.
Hugs to you,
Becky
Missina, I completely relate to the double McChicken lunch. My idea of what normal quantities of food are are really distorted. I have often eaten two sandwiches. A McChicken is only 360 cals so you could have done far less!
I am sitting here waiting for my bf to get back with Chinese take out, and I am at risk to really overeat.
We didn\'t get to be morbidly obese by not having issues with wanting to eat large quantities!!!
I believe we can slowly change ourselves, and gradually change what seems like an adequate meal. It is going to take time....but I believe it will happen.
I\'m trying to help myself with this by starting to eat a lot more vegetables and salad...with little or no dressing. I got a salad at Costco today and only used about a tablespoon of the dressing instead of the half cup they give you! Just salting the lettuce and crunching on it seemed to be helpful....
Sorry to hear about issues with your son. It is so upsetting to see people we love hurting themselves and not being able to intervene. I suppose people who love us have the same feeling watching us eat ourselves into poor health....
Thanks again for your words of support....I always look forward to your comments....
OOPS...meant you could have done far worse than eating two McChickens!!!!
