I met an old high school friend for lunch yesterday and ate stuff that I should't have eaten.  So, needless to say, I was up with diarrhea all night.  Oh well, it was worth it.  I love extra dressing on my salad and love biscuits soaked in butter.  Hey, food is one of the few pleasures we have to look forward to in our "old age".  So, yes, it was worth it!  I am feeling a little bit better about these blood tests.   I've been going without my Sandostatin shot thinking every day that I would get the blood work done.  I think I will just make an appt with the NOLA doctors for May and let them order the tests in New Orleans.  Just is too much stress my trying to coordinate this.  My doctor hasn't a clue about Carcinoid and at least he is honest about that.  So....mind is made up....gonna wait till May and see the REAL doctors!
My weight is still around 107.  I was 112 or 116 when I last saw the REAL doctors and they thought I was nutritionally challenged then!  I need another operation but at this low weight I cannot afford to lose an ounce so I doubt they will want to operate.  It doesn't matter to me.  I will just go with the flow.  Everything that I like is on the no no list of foods to avoid.  It's amazing how true that list is.  If I want diarrhea (oh yeah) all I have to do is have chocolate, pecans, ice cream, or anything good!  It really sux!
I am feeling better though about the tests and will see if my son can give me my shot today.  I shouldn't be going without it anyway.  It will help the diarrhea go away.

Try eating breads and pasta. I have gained eight pounds back eating things like that. I want to be healthy so NOLA will do whatever they need to do. I haven\'t been yet.
Oh yes, I am having H*** trying to get anyone to draw my labs. Get this.....my Hospital doesn\'t draw for the labs I need done. Called Lab Corp they said they would draw the blood for $16 hand it back to me and I was to mail it to ISI. Dr. W. seems to think I can have it done somewhere else but if my insurance doesn\'t pay then I am out of pocket over $1000 which I can\'t pay. He said pay up front and battle with insurance co. to get paid back but when you are out of work that isn\'t an option. I don\'t know what I am gonna do but probably not have the lab work done.
I am glad you got to see your high school friend. sounds like you really enjoyed yourself. sometimes diarrhea isn\'t so bad to indulge and enjoy. We always know that will happen with overindulgence but sometimes I can accept that.
Glad you are better. Let me know when you are going to NOLA. I am two hours from there.

May I ask how you figured out what foods are on the \"no\" list? Was it trial and error for you, or are going by the 5-HIAA avoidance foods, or do you have another reference? I am still trying to figure out what causes me to have issues and what doesn\'t.
Thanks for you help!
