***CHARITY JOURNAL*** I Missy S. suffer from anorexia nervousa, and have been for the past 5 years. Now I want to get something straight here; I have anorexia but I refuse to call myself anorexic. I will not let my eating disorder define who I am. I am a daughter, a girlfriend, a student, an assistant teacher, but I am NOT an eating disorder. This having been said, I would like to make a suggestion for a worthy charity to donate to. The last bout of treatment that I endured included me entering a partial hospitalization program. This program was located in Rochester, NY which is about 1.5 hrs from my house. Luckily, for people like me who need to attend this partial program and do not live in the area, there is a supportive housing place called Sage House where I could stay. Sage House is a beautiful residence that has 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a laundry room. It is staffed from 8AM-11PM by some very amazing women. This staff of women are there to support, talk to, and guide the people who are staying at Sage House. The Sage House provides groceries that they help you shop for at Wegmans(we were allowed to have anything our heart's desired), internet access, as well as cable television. I would just like to be able to give them some funding to keep them going. The Sage House and it's staff provided me with safe, secure, supportive as well fun at times housing, and I believe that a donation made to them would allow them to keep going and keep them helping other individuals who are struggling with eating disorders. Their website is: http://www.thesagehouse.org/ it's complete with their address and phone number as well as more information about this wonderful place. I would like to thank you for your time and consideration! -Missy-

I totally agree with this recomendation!
I am totally for this, it sounds like a truly worthy cause! brilliant suggestion x
thanks for sharing.
I think it sounds like a wonderful place. We deserve all the support we can get. I hope they can keep it open. XO
Probably one of the better ED sites out there, just because they teach you how to get back into the world again. The is important because death stats are the highest when you first get out of treatment, due to relapse being so stressful on the body. The more you are able to deal with the real world - like groceries, family, roommates, - the more successful you\'ll be in maintaining recovery.
It has my vote.
This place should diffinatly get a donation. Many people overlook EDs as not being as serious as it is. Very little funding goes to EDs. This place needs to stay open.
count another vote from me x
hey sounds like a worthy cause!
The Sage House sounds like a wonderful place to seek help for an ED and still be able to maintain involved in the real world outside. As it\'s a residential setting, I can see the obvious advantages over the often very structured, controlled environment that a hospital offers. I don\'t know of many other residential-style options for ED treatment, but what a great idea! The Sage House definitely gets my vote...I support your cause alll the way, Missy!
i think this sounds like an amazing place, and i think it deserves the funding if it is everything you say it is!
Fantastic entry. This place sounds absolutely amazing!
i hope the money gets to go to this cause...they sound amazing.
