preschool fee $ 32 a daytissues to wipe snooty nose $ 2extra pair of pants for just in case accidents $ 20an unexpected hug from a new little friend? pricelesspreschool day 1...captains log.........lol im just messing around...my first day was alright...although i am dead tired (i got 4 hrs of sleep since i had to get up at 6:30 am)....i started off in the preschool room with the kids who are 5 and up...and they totally loved me...all the little girls wanted me to sit next to them while they were at the table eating cheerios, and they kept bringing me books to read to them....and then, it happened......i got switched into the room with the toddlers (like 2-3 yr olds)...and the shit hit the fan lol....they need to be watched at ALL times, and they need to be told NO all of the time...they know what they arent supposed to be doing, which makes those the things that they want to do....and the teacher in there was like "they arent supposed to be doing that" like scolding me....im sorry lady but I AM NEW AND DONT KNOW ALL OF THE FUCKING RULES! ...i dont know that they arent supposed to climb onto the top block thing but they can climb on the rest, i dont know that they arent supposed to put any toys in their mouths and that if they do i must confiscate the offending toy from the offending child for sterilization.....etc etc etc....so many rules....but after awhile, i got the hang of it...and i am feeling optimistic that i wont be in the toddler room everyday...although, i might be since that seems to be the most out of control .....but i must say, there is something so innocent about kids....they just met me, yet within moments, they accepted me and were crawling into my lap to be near me....they would just plop right down in my lap for a story, or hold my hand outside, or want me to pick them up....or let me change their diaper before nap time....they are so trusting....i could never imagine being that way...it must be nice.....let's see here, today i changed 1 diaper, cleaned and bandaged an elbow scrape, helped wash hands, fed them lunch and snack (which neither the teachers nor i are expected to consume thank god! and since i work 6 hr shifts, i dont even get a lunch break.....ED loves that about this job), and rubbed their backs to lull them off to nappy time....we went outside but that lasted like 5 min cuz of the falling/scraping incident....although, im not exactly sure how to get them to clean up the toys...they just kept pulling them out rather than cleaning them up...they cleaned them up for miss karen....but not for miss melissa...miss melissa was scrambling around, scolding them to help her pick up the toys, and ended up picking them all up herself.....humph! who's in charge again?

Ah, your entry brings back so many memories. Before I had Emily I was a lead teacher in the two year old room. Two year olds are so much fun (I\'sarcastic when I say this). My little girl is turning two on Thursday, but she\'s been in the terrible two stage for a couple months now. It is amazing how kids take to you so fast. Before I even got hired at the center I was at, I had to observe the two year old room to see if I would like it. As soon as I walk in the kids were bring me books, sitting on my lap, asking me my name, etc. I could never get the kids to clean up either. I always ended up doing it. They always cleaned up for the morning lead teacher though. I think it was because the morning lead teacher was mean and she yelled at the kids, but I was always nice and never yelled.
Hey that is soo cool! i used to wrk in a daycare too and well i am training to be a kindergarten/preschool teacher so i know what ur going thru adjusting to all those rules ur gta learn and what is safe for the children and what isn\'t and yes 2-3 yrs are the trouble makers!!!!!!! especialy 2 yr olds they just disagree on purpose! trick is 2 no tht they r just learning the word no and this is the age they go thru a stage of having a lot of tantrums so really dnt stress out and not it\'s not personal or ur fault just a stage toddlers go thru that is very hard on us cargivers lol!!!!!!
Your entry sounds a lot like my days when I teach Kindergarten....oh sometimes they are so sweet and others....My first day this year, I had one student running around pulling off his pants and then I had others fight and I am suppose to be the one in charge!!! Needless to say it has gotten so much better....I hope you have a good week!!!
