Day 4

so I missed posting yesterday...  I spent the day kind of gearing myself up to get a shot in my eye... Then... I didn't have to have a shot... my eyes are a little bit better... so now its been a whole year since I had to have the shot in the eye...  so now I don't have to go back until October... The first date they offered was October 9th but I was kind of excited to be able to tell them that wouldn't work as I would be at the FMO retreat. One step closer to being there, telling others that I am going.  So I'll go after we get back... Yay Me!!!  Which makes me think of something else... I really truly appreciate my SOTH who are reaching out to encourage me to love me how ever I am.
Doesn't mean I want to lean in to that and not keep working on finding the best way for me to get healthier... Not perfect... not societies ideal of who I should be... but my better place albeit not perfect. I listened to the message yesterday and was encouraged about the focus not so much on drastic change... but some little changes... In addition to the message two days ago about eating vegetables in double digits... Yesterday's message added the idea of adding fermented foods, etc...
Listening to today's message and I am going to listen even when I don't feel like the message makes me happy... That's my goal for today... Keep pulling...

Yay Elissa! I know you will enjoy the retreat.
Small steps are the best! Our supper tonight was paleo. We used to have a vegetarian dinner once a week. We are starting again - Meatless Monday (except it was Tuesday this week). We had eggplant and squash with tomato sauce and a veggie burger without the bun. I have heard that fermented food in healthy and cider vinegar is the best. I am looking forward to hearing the next message!!
I am smiling - you are coming to the retreat!!!!!!

I missed one or maybe two of your journals, so I had to go back to read them. Oh, I am so sorry I leapt right into this thing with you gals! Again, I was wrong about the Summit, they acted as if it was going to be Paleo but it is not, hardly any of it. In fact I am doing another through life insurance and it has more Paleo than K. Tepa ?? (whatever her name is.) I am so sorry! It was supposed to be free, not cost dollars! I don\'t know how she ended up getting money from you. Again, I am sorry. I am glad that your eyes are better and that you are going to the retreat. Geese, the only two good things and I wasn\'t responsible for either... Love ya (if that counts.)

Loving ourselves however we are is such a gift and not one that is always so easy to feel. I think for me one of the most difficult challenges of losing my son was that nothing felt okay or comfortable for such a long, long time. Discomfort in my own skin was an understatement and I\'m grateful that slowly, it is not feeling that way any longer. Not sure when the change began to happen, yet it has and I don\'t take it for granted for a moment. This is what I\'m feeling around you as I read your journal, Elissa, that sense of finding that comfortable within yourself.

Gentle care each and every day as you awaken to do your best in making healthy life choices for yourself that only you can make.

You can do it and are!

Love and care,
XO Joanie
