Dear Kitty,
goodness - it's been a whole ten months since Dan and I first went out on a date! He came to stay on Friday. I went into town to go to Primark before I picked him up, but then I realised I'd forgotten to lock the back door and let the dog in, so I had to come home again and then go back into Norwich. It meant that Josh met him at the station instead, but I saw him outside Frank's. We had lunch in Cafe No, 33, which I liked but nobody else did. After that, we went and played cards in the Arts Centre, and then headed off to The Bicycle Shop, before Mum picked Dan and I up from the Cathedral.
On Saturday, I woke him up early because we were going to Cambridge. We were both a little sleepy on the train there, but perked up when we arrived. He let me drag him into a few churches, which was nice, and we had a quick look in a vintage shop too. He's definitely more interested in fashion these days! He took me to Yo! Sushi for lunch, and then we met up with - you'll never guess - Charly! I hadn't seen her since I left Oundle, and she doesn't look at all different. She's as sweet as she ever was, though, and it was really good to catch up with her. Apparently Max is gay, as well as Alex, and Tom (Hoskins) has come out as bi. I told her I was bi, and she was so surprised! Dan and I got the train back at ten past four, and played Phase 10 on the way home (I lost). When we got home, Fenny and Pop were here and we were having a barbecue. It was really nice for most of it, and we were all quite drunk. There was a bit of a disagreement at the end of it, and I got quite upset. Dan and I went off to play Final Fantasy and cuddle, and I cried on him a little (blame the gin). He slept on my floor that night, and I slept next to him, which wasn't comfortable but totally worth it.
Yesterday, we slept in until twelve and then didn't do much. We've been watching a lot of Mad Men, and Don't Tell The Bride was on tv as well. We played Phase 10 again - the scores are 23 - 31 to him. We ended up talking to Mum for about an hour after tea, and he listened as Mum and I talked about Oxford, before we all talked about universities. We went back to my room afterwards and ended up reading 1950s sex tips and my copy of 'How To Be A Well-Dressed Wife', which was great. It really does feel just like we're best friends a lot of the time, and we were giggling hysterically for ages (as well as when he sat on me and tickled me before we went to post a letter. And when he pushed me down the hill. And when he dropped me on the grass. And pushed me into a bush). I was falling asleep after the fourth episode of Mad Men, so he said goodnight and went back to his own room. I woke him up at half eight this morning with a cup of tea, and we cuddled for an hour before I made him breakfast (I promised I would because it's our anniversary). He left at half ten, and now I'm going to watch Mad Men all day and see him tomorrow in town. I think we're going out for dinner as well, which will be nice. We've started planning our days for when he comes to stay at the end of the month - things like a reading day, when we're going to make a blanket fort; another trip to the seaside; a museum day etc. I'm really excited!
Yours,
Chessie
