Dear Kitty,
Dan arrived last Friday, on the third. His train was late, and I went to meet him at the station at half past three. We didn't really do much that Friday - I had choir that evening - and we had planned to go to Kyoto Lounge. Unfortunately, it was closed for a private do, so we ended up going to Odder and then to Font.
I got a letter from Hector on the Saturday, and things seem to be going rather badly for him at the moment. I'm hoping he's alright - obviously I can't really talk to him, but I really do hope that this month is better than the last. (Also I really can't imagine him ever smoking.) Dan and I woke up late and went out ice skating with Michael, Stef and Adam. I couldn't get the skates I wanted until halfway through, and the ice was awful, but it was rather fun nonetheless. We all went to Kyoto Lounge that evening - it was their seventh birthday, so there was free gaming after seven. Stef, Adam and Michael left at eight, but Dan and I stayed and played Sonic All-Star Racing until ten - completing three and a half stages! We met up with Stef again on Sunday so that we could revise, and then I went to church while Dan went to Kyoto with Stef and Adam. The music wasn't great, but it was fun all the same. I was exhausted when I got back, so Dan and I watched Fawlty Towers and went to bed early.
Monday was a bank holiday, so Dan took me on a romantic champagne (well, pink prosecco) picnic. We sat in Whitworth Park until six, reading and talking and teasing. The book stall was open, and we both ended up buying books - he bought one on performance art, and I bought 'Lotte in Weimar'. I studied on Tuesday and we went out again because it was so warm. We got gelato on the way home, and watch 'The Devil Wears Prada' that night. I had an exam on Wednesday, but we went to 8th Day beforehand. The exam (Chinese Oral) was fine - not hard at all, and I'm feeling good about it. We went to Afflecks together that afternoon, and stopped for freezepops in the upstairs cafe. He took me home for cuddles before he left to go back to Norwich, and then we went to the station at quarter to eight.
I wrote half of my Japanese oral presentation last night, and got up at half past five today to finish it. It's easier to concentrate away from my laptop, so I went to the Learning Commons and learned it off by heart. Unfortunately, when I bought a hot chocolate from the cafe, the lady who worked there put milk in it, so I had a reaction to it and felt very ill for about an hour. I was alright in time for my exam, thankfully, and that went surprisingly well. Afterwards, Stef and I went to the manga shops in town, and then Michael and Benedict came to join us. Benedict had never been to Afflecks before (!), so we had to go after that. I bought the dress I looked at with Dan yesterday (red velvet, high lace-trimmed collar, lace-trimmed sleeves, above the knee), and then Michael and I went to Dawson's for ages and sightread music and then did some Phantom duets. My voice has completely died (too much smoking, not enough water) so none of the top notes were any good. As for tonight? I'm going to watch Love Hina and relax, before I start revising for the society exam tomorrow. I got my essay back today - sixty nine! Tomorrow night, I'm going out with everyone else to celebrate the end of the oral.
I'm moving out on the 23rd, when I go back to Norwich for six days. I'm back in Manc for a night on the 29th, because I've got my last exam on the 30th, but then I'm going back straight afterwards! Aren't I a busy bee? I've been so happy recently, and so energetic! It's wonderful, really. There's the ball on Saturday, and I'm seeing Cecily on Tuesday.
Also I had a thigh gap for the first time EVER this morning (which is probably because all I've eaten in the last three days is hummus, carrots and ice cream). Wheee!
Yours,
Chessie
