Dear Kitty,
this week has certainly had its ups and downs! I went for a job interview on Tuesday, but they never got back to - luckily, Cecily and Andrew want me for two hours next week, so hurrah! On Wednesday, I was too miserable to be able to bring myself to go to class, and on Thursday, I had the best kanji lesson ever (Michael and I sang Les Mis at each other, and Sunny got annoyed because she was sitting in between us - but then she laughed when Michael started making kanji innuendo, and when Yamaguchi-sensei thought I thought that the Japanese don't have a separate word for 'green'). Friday was simply marvellous; we got part of our exam back during Inoue-sensei's class, and I came top out of everyone! I got 72, which I am jolly proud of.
On Friday evening, I had choir, and we rehearsed the Allegri we're doing on Ash Wednesday. I was terrified before the first high bit - but, when I sang, even I was quite impressed with the sound I made. It was high and clear and in tune - I feel quite proud of myself right now. I got a round of applause after the first one, and one of the people in the choir told me how lucky the choir was to have me (he teaches at the RNCM). We all went to the pub afterwards, and ended up staying until midnight - David teased me, and nobody else had ever had a Blue WKD before, so they were all intrigued.
As for today? Well, I didn't get to sleep until half four, and then I woke up at four this afternoon - the most sleep I've had for ages! I've spent the rest of today watching bad films and reading how-tos. Tomorrow I'm doing evensong, and I've an audition on Tuesday - and then Dan arrives on Saturday. I can't wait!
Yours,
     Chessie
