Dear Kitty,
well, what a week last week was. I had my last exam on Wednesday afternoon, and it went much better than I expected it to. Michael and I went to see 'Les Mis' that night - it was a good film, but only as a film, and not as an adaptation of 'Les Mis'. Seeing George Blagden on the big screen was very odd, but it reminded me why I was so obsessed with him at school (and his voice, oh, his voice).
I got the train back to Norwich on Thursday, and Dan met me at the station (having posted me a letter a minute before that I got on Sunday night). On Thursday night, we stayed in and didn't do a lot - just talked and relaxed, and went to bed early-ish because he had work the next morning. I had a bad dream before he left, and woke up in his arms while he calmed me down. We didn't go out on Friday after he got back; instead, we watched Chobits and 'Moonrise Kingdom', and spent the evening with Will and Craig, playing 'Worms' and watching 'Tom and Jerry'. On Saturday, we were meant to go to an antique book fair, but it didn't seem to be on when we arrived (gosh, aren't we old-fashioned?), so we went to Starbucks and Waterstones and just wandered for a while. We met Craig, Will and Tom at The Bell later, and then moved to their friend Ed's birthday party, at The Rose. I didn't know anyone, and I wasn't feeling especially happy at the time, so I didn't talk much until I'd had more to drink - at which point Dan and I ended up playing the game where you have to push a 2p across the table and then flip it at the end. We used to play it in the Berrystead, but he'd never seen it before. After that, we had an argument about music, and then we all headed over to Nav's leaving party.
I got drunk very quickly after we arrived; Dan and I were drinking Kick and vodka, and I'd already had a pint and a half of cider. After about ten minutes, Craig announced that Dan and he were going to be taking some ridiculous drug soon, and - well, I suppose it was the caffeine, but it scared me an awful lot, and I ended up having a panic attack. I couldn't breathe properly, so Dan sat me down until I was a bit better, and then took me outside. We didn't go back inside all night - instead, we just talked and talked (and occasionally Will came over and we talked to him too). I told him something that's been on my mind a lot recently, and he listened and understood. I don't think I made it very clear, though, so I've sent him a letter with the full story (I'm no good at talking when I'm drunk). And I told him about the whole 'no-sex-before-marriage' thing.
He said he'd suspected it for a while anyway, but he's ok with it. I mean, I'm sure he isn't thrilled, but he doesn't seem to mind too much. He took me home after that, because I felt very ill, and we went to sleep almost immediately. I got changed in the bedroom for once - we never get changed in front of each other, but I was plastered - and I wasn't sure if he'd been watching until I asked him the next day and he said, 'yes, I saw you in your bra and tights and thought you looked incredibly attractive', which made me blush. We talked for hours on Sunday morning, and he wishes I could trust him. I wish I could too, but it's just not that easy. Nevertheless, I trust him more than I've trusted anyone for a very long time. He says that I need to realise he's not going to drop me immediately if I tell him something a little bit weird, that he thinks I'm perfect, and that, despite what I think about who he needs, all he wants is me.
We saw Satnav and Steph on Sunday evening, and now I'm back here in Manchester. It's lonely, but Janie, Michael, Stef and I have signed the contract for the house now - and it's only eleven days until I see Dan again.
Yours,
     Chessie
