Dear Kitty,
I met up with Dan and Josh on Saturday afternoon at a pub called The Plough. Josh left soon afterwards to spend Christmas with Freya - how sweet (we'd been supposed to have a drink with them that night but we couldn't because they were off to Freya's)! Dan and I sat in the pub all afternoon and played Jenga and Scrabble together. We went back to his later, and we made tea together and did all the washing up, and then we sat in the living room and played Super Monkey Ball on the PS2. He was in the armchair, and I was huddled between his knees, and it was very comfortable. He taught me how to play poker after that, which turned into 'Stick-A-Card-To-Your-Head-And-Guess-Which-Is-Higher', which turned into ' Let's Throw Poker Chips At Each Other'. The fire was on, and we were listening to Beethoven, and - oh, it all felt so perfect. He put Jay Foreman on after a while, and then he kissed me - and then I practically exploded with laughter in his face when the 'Procrastination' song came on. He saw the funny side, though. When we'd put all the cards away, he suggested pyjamas and an episode of 'Black Books', but then we started kissing, and - well, one thing led to another. He made me a cup of tea in the morning, and we listened to 'The Infinite Monkey Cage' before going to the station to catch his train.
Mum, Dad, Cecily, Andrew and I all went to the cathedral carol service that night, and then we played 'Articulate' after tea. I have an advantage; I speak so fast that I can fit five words into the time Dad can do two, so we won. Fenny and Pop arrived on Christmas Eve, and we all went to bed at twelve, after several games of 'Name That Tune'. Christmas Day began at seven thirty, when I went downstairs to find Cecily and Andrew opening their stockings. Breakfast was at nine, and then I watched Aladdin until it was time to sort out the presents with Cecily. This year, I got 750 White Rabbit Intermediate Kanji Cards - just what I wanted! I also got lots of soap, two handwash sets, Miranda Hart's autobiography, a homemade hot chocolate set (from Cecily), a Marmite giftset (Fenny and Pop), and lots of Amazon vouchers. I've already spent the Amazon vouchers - Sailor Moon Volume 2, Wii Fit Plus, Dior's 'Little Dictionary of Fashion' and, best of all, a SONIC SCREWDRIVER! Dan's jealous. Yesterday's Doctor Who was pretty fantastic, though.
As for today? Well, I set up the Wii Fit (depressing after-Christmas diet time), made Cecily's birthday cake for tomorrow, broke in my new quads and watched 'An American In Paris'. Tea was long, and Mum was picking on me, and then there were the usual arguments over politics and Europe and just some general racist comments, so I'm now hiding upstairs. We did have indoor fireworks, though, and they're always good. I'm getting new glasses tomorrow (hopefully) - a good thing, because I can hardly read anything these days - and then Mum, Dad and I are off to Calais for the day on Saturday.
Dan and I are having a film day on Sunday, and I'm hoping I can stay the night - you can have too much 'family time', and I've got no space to be me right now because Cecily and Andrew are living in my room too. I was writing in my diary on Christmas Eve, and you'll never guess what I found; a secret letter from Dan. The pages were glued together so I'd almost never have noticed it, but it is the sweetest, most wonderful letter ever.
Yours,
Chessie
