Dear Kitty,
I've been miserable recently, and I don't even have a reason. But last night, on the way back from choir, I had a moment:
I was having a cigarette on the way and I stopped just over the bridge on the way home to look at the high-rise buildings (they're all pretty when it's dark and there are lights on). And then I suddenly laughed at how different I am to this time last year - when I was the good little church girl who'd just come out of boarding school, hardly drank at all, was incredibly naive, was never going to smoke, could hardly speak to people...
And then I realised: I have become exactly who I want to be. The quirky girl who's done stuff that nobody else has done and who people find interesting; the one who gets invited on nights out and who people come to for advice. I mean, I'm nowhere near as thin as I want to be, but that's a work-in-progress. My friends at uni genuinely think I'm cool - a whole new experience for me - and they're awesome! Oh, and I know who I'm living with next year: Stef, Janey and Ella. Stef asked me when we went out together on Thursday, and of course I said yes; Stef is fantastic, and the other two are really nice as well.
I can hardly believe how much I've changed since I started this blog, but I'm happy I have done.
Yours,
      Chessie
