Dear Kitty,
            this is the longest I've gone without talking to Tom in four years, and it scares me. I read our old conversations, and, in so many ways, I miss him awfully. There are some bits that I don't miss, of course - the same as with anyone - but they're far outweighed by the parts that I do. Life has been simpler for the last two months, now that he and Hector aren't talking to me, but...
I am a terrible person, Kitty. I don't know how I have friends - or how I've managed to keep them.
