Dear Kitty,
got the strangest letter from Dan I've ever had from anyone today. It was written the day before he came to see me, so didn't really need to be written, but he decided to anyway. Inside the envelope was a piece of string that had been tied in a loop. The letter itself was on two pieces of A4, same as always - but he'd written it so that I could interpret it how I wanted. The writing was everywhere - upside down paragraphs, a spiral, big, small, you name it. It made me laugh, though.
Matt and I went to do the Monday quiz at Odder's tonight, which was really fun. He's getting with someone called Dan too, so we just seem to talk about relationships all the time - and it's nice to have someone to do that with here. We (he, Dan, and I) are all going for coffee tomorrow so that I finally have the chance to meet him! Tonight, we had lots of cocktails and lost the quiz - but our consolation prize was a pair of flight socks, now called Leonard and Donald. Matt's really fantastic, and I'm glad to have a friend like him. Sunny-chan and I were teasing Jarka earlier - her surname in Czech means 'sheep', so she's now known as Hitsuji-chan, and we keep baaing at her. She finds it hilarious, though. Stef and I did revision before our test with her, and we ended up laughing too much over the vocab to learn very much. The test went well, though, so that's all good.
I'm feeling quite proud of myself for having made new friends. And I was in the best mood ever earlier - I'd had two cups of coffee, we'd all (Dad and I and the rest of the family who were at home) Skyped Mum together to sing 'happy birthday', I'd been listening to the Goon Show, and then I spent an hour working super-hard and listening to 60s music. It made me so happy - I felt really productive, energetic and just cheery. I don't think I could have been much happier.
Yours,
       Chessie
P.S. I texted Dan in the bar: 'Just thought I'd let you know I miss you xxx'. His reply was 'I have told you I love you, right? 'Cause I really, really do xxx'.
