Dear Kitty,
how much I miss Paris has been creeping up on me. It finally hit me today, and now I can't seem to stop thinking about how it was when I lived there - and how much I miss Etienne and Marie-Pascale. All the sweet things that Etienne used to do; his way of speaking, and the way he goes through obsessive phases, and how quickly he learns things - and then my conversations with Marie-Pascale, and the things she used to teach me about being French and how to dress and, oh, so many other things. I must go back and visit them sometime - I miss them too much to just completely forget them. I don't even know what the new au pair is like! I hope she's encouraging Etienne to learn as much as I used to.
Katie leaves for Africa on Tuesday, and goodness, I'm worried. I hope she'll be alright - the knowledge that she'll be an eight-hour journey away if there's a problem has put me into a state of minor panic. I do worry about that girl.
Dan has a cold, but he's assuring me he's fine. I'll see him in thirteen days - and then he's coming to see me on November 17th. Luckily, that's the opening of the Christmas market here! Also, it's his birthday party on the second - well, it's his birthday party and also a Halloween party. The theme is 'Adventure Time/Batman', so I'm going as Catwoman. I wasn't sure what else to do, but at least I finally have a chance to wear my cat ears!
Yours,
Chessie
P.S. I'm listening to the Rach III for the first time right now, and it's quite good. I don't think it'll ever take the place of the Rach II, though.
P.P.S. It turns out that my current choirmaster has played the organ at St George's! It is a small world, after all - or, as they say in Disneyland Paris 'c'est un petit monde'! Oh, gosh, I miss the choir. Sylvie and Jane and Candi keep sending me messages on Facebook, and it makes me so happy when they do.
